“Key word - small”
Reviewed 6 May 2011

Agrigento is a strange city and cannot be considered beautiful , is uncharacterized, although the Valley of the Temples is very interesting. And travel by car is very complicated, even with GPS, we risk ending up inside small dead ends ..
We visited the city and we stayed in Hotel Exclusive, which we do not recommend .
A small boutique hotel where the keyword is the just that - small. In a narrow street (but very well situated in the city center), one reception shy. The room was small and had the walls with mirrors to give precisely the feeling of space. The bathroom also small, with many products a bit dull.
The breakfast room (if you can call room, or just a continuation of the lobby) was too small, the tables on top of each other and the content of the breakfast was not good.
If you visit the Valley of the Temples we recommend you to stay in one of hotels located in the countryside, in the area of the temples, which seems much nicer

Very small, very flashy hotel, all mirrors and black marble - making the stairs lethal. We had a balcony with a view of the sea and a glimpse of a column or 2 in the valley of the Temples, but the foreground was dominated by a lot of scruffy buildings. The balcony had no chairs & our first request for some was refused, but after some pushing they arrived the next day. No tea/coffee making facilities. Buffet breakfast fairly standard, but no fresh milk for cereal. This hotel seems overpriced compared withe the other 5 we stayed at in Sicily.

My husband and I booked the hotel for our romantic trip of Sicily because we read somewhere that you can the temple of Agrigento from the rooms and because we saw good reviews on tripadvisor. When we arrived to the hotel, however, we were very disappointed by the location of the hotel. The hotel is located right next to a train station in the middle of the residential area. The temples are a couple of kilometers away and can be hardly seen from the balcony. The rooms are nice and are certainly newly renovated, the breakfast was good, and the hotel staff very friendly (they let us check out early because we wanted to look for a more romantic hotel). However, this is not a place for a romantic couple: there is no garden, no evening restaurant, no pool and the area around is not very pretty. On the other hand, the hotel is a very good choice for any visitors wishing to visit the city of Agrigento. Please keep in mind that the beds are very hard (as in very hard) so make sure you are OK to sleep on a hard surface. There is also no guarded parking so you have to look for parking on the street.

This very new and very designer hotel just across the street from the train station in Agrigento has charming owner/staff. We were welcomed with a smile and the check-in was a breeze. However, the pleasant experience sadly ended there. Upon entering the room we were shocked by its size. It barely had place for two people to move about. The desk was a sliver of a ledge in the wall. The bathroom, although all new, modern and clean, was one of the tiniest we've seen - the shower booth would not be comfortable for a larger person.
The tv had many channels, but there was a problem where most of the channels were breaking up constantly.
The only nice thing really was the small balcony, overlooking some ugly buildings in the foreground but also the valley of the temples and the sea in the distance.
We tried to ask for a bigger room (and we were ready to pay extra on top of the 130 eur that the standard room cost) but were nicely told the hotel is fully booked.
The website of the hotel and the booking website did not clearly mention the size of the rooms. We would not have stayed here if we knew upfront.
All of this is somewhat remedied by the great service - all the staff were helpful and very friendly. A pity for the rest.

The hotel is new with excellent modern design. It is family run and all staff are extremly friendly and helpful !!! The standard room is very small with direct access from the corridor but for 1 night stay sufficient. Location is very good - just opposite the train station and bus stop for the Valley of the Temples.

We were pleasantly surprised with Hotel Exclusive during our stay in Sicily - the rooms are all modernly finished to high specifications, the staff is extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is impeccable.
