“Beautiful Stay”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

This property is directly across from the train station. It is a short walk to the city center which has great shopping and restaurants. The city bus that takes you to the Valley of the Temples is in front of the train station. Check-in was quick and we were treated to plates of pineapple and oranges in our room as we unpacked. When we were ready to depart to the Valley of the Temples, we were surprised with aperitifs and a glass of wine. I wish our itinerary allowed for a longer stay as we were really enjoying the hospitality. The breakfast was the usual assortment of meats, cheeses and bakery, some items such as crepes were in a warmer, another plus. I was given a tray to bring breakfast to my spouse who was enjoying a long shower. It doesn't get any better than this. This will be a property we will return to in the future.

Room Tip: All the rooms were great.

We just returned from Agrigento and thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at Hotel Exclusive. Very centrally located and spotless! Rooms are not large but modern and everything works..even bathrobes in the room, minibar and safe. Lots of mirrors. The town is very sweet and cordial. Our room had a view facing the water and we could see the Temple..just perfect. The real star is Fabio at the reception. He met us at the door and parked our car for us. He explained everything around town. We were so tired that night and did not feel like going to a restaurant...he provided wine, cheese, salami, olives and chips and we slept like babies. In the morning, he made fresh crepes with Nutella inside, had our coffee ready and presented ever so beautifully. Nice breakfast buffet. You can see that Fabio really likes his job. He made us feel like family. I would definitely stay there again!!

Small hotel in the town centre next to the railway station. Don't let the railway station scare you away, the location is perfect and a short walk to the old town.

It shows that the hotel is newly built as the interior and design of the hotel is very modern and different from surrounding buildings and the old town on the other side of the railway.

The room was small, but very nice and included a balcony as well that had sun most of the day. The staff were very service minded and helpful. If you arrive by car you'll be glad to know that they have parking spaces for rent, as this town is not very car-friendly...

The breakfast was pretty standard for sicily, different variations of bread, cheese, ham, jam and cereals.

All in all a great value hotel and highly recommended.

We spent one night here, but wished we had spent more. Our room was very comfortable and the decor extremely modern and through our window situated above the bed, we could clearly see the Valley of the Temples. We sat up on the roof terrace eating canolis, which we purchased in a fantastic bakery in the town, which is just a short walk away. We had a real spread for breakfast, which was included in the price and then set off to visit the Valley of the Temples, which is a five minute drive away and an absolute must for any lover of antiquity! The Manager recommended Le Postana di Federico Restaurant in Viale della Vittoria, which is a five minute walk from the hotel. The meal was just incredible and an absolute must. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the Valley of the Temples.

Spent a night here and were very impressed with the service. Fabio could not do enough for us and was so obliging. He made an excellent restaurant recommendation and gave us coffee and cookies before our trip to the temples and fruit to tie us over until dinner.

The room was small but comfortable. The decor is very modern and the bathroom a good size. The bed was very comfortable. The TV had English channels. There is an in room safe. Parking is close by and only cost 4euro for the day. Drive up to the hotel and unload your luggage. They will give you a parking pass card and the parking entrance is 50 meters down the road at the railway station, as previous posts have indicated. The breakfast was OK. We have just come from 5star properties so it is unfair to compare. It is close to the railway station and within walking distance to the old town.

Other hotels could certainly learn from their service.

This is a small Hotel in the town centre right next to the railway station and a few minutes walk from the bus station. It is also very close to the old part of the town which is delightful and has some excellent restaurants (but be aware they do not open until 7:00 PM and good ones are usually full by 8:00 PM), ice cream parlours and shops.

Taxi hire from Catania cost €150 euros and takes about 1 hour 45 mins, the bus costs €13 euros and takes about 2 hours 20 mins. Walk to the railway station from the bus station and you see the Hotel quite clearly.

On arrival, Fabio welcomed us with a tray of fresh fruit (sweet and absolutely dripping with juice) and nibbles. Although small, it is not cramped and seems bigger with the clever use of floor to ceiling mirrors. First (middle and last) impression was that it was spotlessly clean. We chose and upgraded room which had a huge circular bed (extremely comfortable) and a small balcony (in fact all rooms had a balcony), a safe and a mini bar. There was a separate en-suite and a separate circular bath/shower. These were separated by glass doors and the glass was so clean you sometimes forgot it was there and bumped into them.

The restaurant is small but looks twice the size because of the floor to ceiling mirror on one wall. A continental breakfast is served and this was excellent and the pastries varied daily.

There is no Bar as such, but the very excellent Fabio will serve drinks in the restaurant on request - a decent variety of wines and spirits are available - some on show on a high shelf on one of the Bar walls and some in a room off the restaurant.

I read one review which said it was noisy but I cannot say that was our experience - there was the occasional whistle of a train entering or leaving the station, and an outside venting system that blew for a couple of minutes now and again, but it did not bother us.

We used local buses to get to the Valley of the Temples, and to a delightful seaside town called San Leone. Although the distances varied the fare was a constant €2.10 euros per return trip per person, and tickets were purchased from a small kiosk near to where the bus stops.

The Valley of the Temples is well worth a look. We purchased a combined ticket which included entry to the Museum (€10 euros for the Temples only, and €13.50 euros for the combined ticket). If you like old pots and vases, broken pieces of old pots and vases, photos of old pots and vases then pay a visit - if not save yourself the extra €3.50 euros each and the kilometre walk to it. If you do go to the Museum the bus stop back to Agrigento is close on the other side of the road and just around the bend in the road.

San Leone is very clean and has a splendid harbour, beach and a large children's funfair. The season had finished when we were there, but I am not sure why - it was 30 degrees centigrade. We enjoyed a bit of sunbathing with a beer on a sun lounger on the beach €6 euros per person for the day including umbrella. Take insect repellent as the biters were frequent visitors.

A thoroughly enjoyable stay for 3 nights. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Go for the room with the circular bed, probably the upgraded room.

We stayed there 1 night and loved it. Location is great, view is wonderful. Service is great, specially Fabio on the front desk. He gave us a little tray with some fresh fruit at arrival in our room since we were very hungry and it wasn't time for dinner at the restaurants. Late for lunch and early for dinner time. Shower needed some bleach and scrubbing, but other than that we had no complaint.
