We're not particularly into archeology, but still found the museum fascinating, and a good introduction to the Valley of the Temples. The giant man in particular was amazing!

It was difficult to find the parking because there was no sign at the entrance, and when we did find the entrance, it was tiny. Nor is the museum signed very well on the outside or the inside. But there are treasures here. We spent four hours looking at the collection.

The museum is located just a short distance from one of the entry points to the Valley of the Temples (but not the entry point with parking for autos). There is a pay parking lot. The highlights for me were the huge Telamon statue and exhibit portraying the huge Temple is came from, and a collection of perfectly "mint" condition ancient gold coins.

An unbelievable quantity and quality of artefacts recovered from the valley of the temples. And a fine building to show them off in. But, as is so often the case in Italy, a somewhat dry experience. However, it should not be missed for an important extra dimension to your visit.

Used to museums- the Met in NYC, Louvre in Paris, etc. but this museum is the mother load. SO much ancient treasure that it takes nearly a day to stroll through it all, one goes numb with the quality and quantity.
