Owner description: Museum that features Phoenician, Greek, Etruscan, Carthaginian and Roman remains, including impressive sculptures from the Selinunte archeological area.

The exhibits are well presented (though sometimes the lighting is not quite right). Comprehensive descriptions in English and Italian. Highlights are the Greek amphorae (these are as good as they get). and some 'giant' statues from the temple of Hercules, which gives you a feel for the scale of the temple. Plan for a couple of hours at least, if you are interested in this sort of thing.

Many lovely things, Greek vases, a child's sarcophagus etc. but no help in finding the best things amongst the multitude of objects. If one had a whole day or preferably three, this would not matter. As it is, it is too easy to get lost or miss the 'stars' of the museum.

great and sizable collection of antique artifacts
very useful introduction to the Valley of Temples
it is good to begin your visit here - there is a parking, and to walk to the temples - it is not far

The museum building is gorgeous! The museum itself is quite difficult to take in a logical way, but it is well set out with good english. Make sure you don't miss the coins, the British Museum could take some lessons in display from this place. We made an effort to see the much vaunted Roman mosaics, but we must be missing something as they were underwhelming.

We're not particularly into archeology, but still found the museum fascinating, and a good introduction to the Valley of the Temples. The giant man in particular was amazing!
