Colleverde Park Hotel
Ranked #4 of 23 Hotels in Agrigento
Certificate of Excellence

We missed the hotel as we came to Agrigento, the hotel's name board being rather obscured, but when we did arrive we were greeted warmly and our luggage was quickly and efficiently taken up to our room. We were in number 402, up a small spiral staircase on the top floor, with a large terrace and a fine view over the temples, at its most attractive in the evening.

Colleverde is very well located, between the old town (which is well worth visiting) and the temples a few minutes' drive away. There is no pool, but the gardens are charming and very well kept. The restaurant is set in a pavilion in the gardens, with a good view of the temples, and the breakfast room also looks straight out on to the gardens. The food was very good, and the staff (both in the restaurant and at the reception) were very attentive and helpful.

We spent two nights at this hotel that is conveniently located near the Valley of the Temples (although not within walking distance). Public rooms were much more attractively furnished than the bedrooms which were small, simple, and had very poor air conditioning. Even when set on high the room was much too warm at all hours of the day. Besides the location, the real charm of the hotel is the pPatio dining with a view of the sea and the Doric temple was wonderful. The food was excellent and the wait staff were very professional.

After a frankly embarrassing "negotiation" on the price (I wanted to book through Hotels.com whereas the Director tried to convince me booking directly with them) we got our room on the 2nd floor. No view unfortunately. The room was absolutely average, which is expected given the hotel's age. The door did not appear too secure, but a safe was available in the room. Air conditioning also OK.
The service is very good, the staff very kind and the restaurant is very good...I recommend it. The view from the terrace and the restaurant is stunning especially at sunset.
They often host events (weddings, graduation parties, etc) so it can get noisy at time.

Colleverde is very convenient if you plan a visit to Agrigento's temples in the valley close by... It's also very close to some good restaurants in Agrigento, including a few ones which can be reached after a short walk from hotel. Rooms are good but nothing flashy. highligh of our stay was the breakfast which is served in a nice area next to the beautiful gardens of the hotel. Staff were always very helpful

Furnished in a very classic style, the Colleverde Park is a quiet, relaxing place. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel has a restaurant, with breakfast served indoors and the evening meals set out in the extensive gardens. Some people may like that, but we don't particularly enjoy the attention of insects and prefer the air conditioning! Breakfast was OK, but without any warm food.

There is a local trattoria just opposite and a range of restaurants in Agrogento, itself about 2km (20 minute) walk away. It's a (gentle) uphill walk which we rather enjoyed. The Valley of the Temples is around 1km in the opposite (flat) direction.

Stayed for 2 nights at end of April. Conveniently situated about 1km from Temples/Museum & 2kms from town centre (uphill walk!). Beautiful gardens & good restaurant in which I felt very welcome with good advice on local dishes & wine for dinner from Maitre D. Good local bistro across the road from the hotel if you prefer. Front desk very helpful with local tourist advice. I could hear the sound of conversations in the next door room late at night. A comfortable bed but I was charged the full double rate even though I was a solo traveler.

Room Tip: I was told that only 4 rooms have Temple views. Go for the top floor if you can to get a view &...

The Colleverde Park was recommended by friends and, with the Villa Ducale in Taormina, was our go-to hotel. It is not close to the Temple Concordia like the Villa Athena (where we had a very good lunch) but it has extensive gardens full of nooks and crannies for reading or enjoying the view over the valley. The food was terrific and the wait staff fun and helpful. They do cater to the bus crowd but they segregate them in the dining room so it is not a problem. Easy to get to in Agrigento, wonderful views, and away from the hustle of the tourist areas of the Temples.

Room Tip: No swimming pool if that is a consideration which it was not for us. Room 10 looking out toward the...
