“closed and neglected”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

it is closed, perhaps for renovations, but the fencing looks as if it has been there for some time, posters of information peeling off the boards and not all legible, paved area in front choked with weeds.

“Closed but other options are great”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

We spent 2 wonderful days in Agrigento, mostly just resting from lots of driving and some quality time at the Valle Dei Templi. These Greek structures date from the 6th century BC. Modeled after the Parthenon, they were the center of Greek culture on the Island. Very much worth a trip to see both east and west structures.
Not a bad thing to miss the Duomo as these are more stunning anyway.

“Closed try again later.”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Disappointed that it was closed, although you can see the treasures in the museo. It is staffed (friendly and helpful) and one of the side chapels is open.

The Duomo is closed for renovations... check before you drive there. It looked from the exterior like it would be worthwhile.

“Its closed!”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

The Cathedral/Duomo is closed for renovation at the moment - just the chapel is open. Fortunately we were staying in Liola B & B right opposite so it didn't matter but just take care to check before you climb up there - it's a long way and many steps!
