Great hotel, close to temples (right down the street). We enjoyed the large immaculate room, with a bathub and a refrigerator. Delicious breakfast, pleasant english speaking staff, who helped us find our way to a roasted chicken take away restaurant and a bakery to end our great day. For those who complain that the hotel is not a resort because it does not offer a pool, we inquired and were told The hotel is on 'antique grounds' and not allowed to build a pool. For that closeness to the Temples, we will gladly give up a swim. We did not come to Sicily to swim in a hotel pool! We had no difficulty finding the hotel, there were numerous signs adding to our directions.

The Demetra Resort is a nice hotel which is extremely hard to find even with a GPS. In fact, thanks to some very kind locals who took us there, we would have spent much more time looking for the facility. Although not truly a "resort" since it does not have a swimming pool, the rooms are very clean, spacious, with very nice showers. The only downside was that the airconditioning unit did not work very well, giving us the minimum amount of cool air. Also, the refrigerator did not work and we were not able to find a switch to turn it on. We advised management of these problems and they seemed anxious to fix them. Hopefully, they were repaired before the next guests arrived.
We had dinner at the resort which was surprisingly good, both the food and the service. The breakfasts were also very good. Overall, our experience at Demetra Resort was a very pleasant one.

The Demetra Resort served its purpose admirably as a base for a visit to the temples. We also, on staff recommendation, made an afternoon drive to the fishing port of Sciacca. An interesting hour or so was spent watching the fishing boats dock and the deals being done over the catches. During our two night stay we ate reasonably priced traditional Sicilian fare in the Demetra Resort's pleasant restaurant. Our room had a spacious bathroom and a nice courtyard sitting area for a late afternoon drink. Our only complaint would be the price being increased when we decided to stay for a second night.

Room Tip: Ask for a courtyard room at the rear of the hotel.

If I were to return to valley of the temples I'd stay here again.   The room and shower room were spacious, staff were helpful and the restaurant was very good.   Most of the resort is on ground level with patio doors from the rooms onto small patios.

On arrival, this resort appears a little unusual.   The choice of artwork for a hotel is perhaps a little questionable but i didnt ask the background (maybe its a local artist or for sale?). there are also a few dogs basking in the sun around the property.   Let this wash over you and you start to see this is actually a very pleasant little oasis. With a little google preparation and the handy signs to the resort it's actually not too hard to find (we did arrive in daylight though). Also, google maps suggests via maddalusa connects San Leone with the resort but this seems to only be a bike track (if that). Best access from the main road and flyover.

The hotel could benefit from a pool. In fact, this would make it almost perfect! Guests can use a pool at the sister resort but it's about 10mins drive away. We didnt use this so i cant comment. The on site restaurant is very good. Probably one some of our best meals!  I understand from the website that this may not be open off season. It would be inconvenient to drive elsewhere to eat.

We loved valley of the temples and some of the surrounding countryside and sea front is spectacular (scale dei turchi is definitely worth a visit!),however, the new Argentino seemed a bit Gotham city like and we were really pleased to be staying outside it. We weren't too impressed by San Leone either but we did arrive at the start of the season.

You'll need a car to stay here. In fact, you need a car to get most places in this area: decent restaurants, sites, valley of the temples. Use a guide book for your restaurants and sights as the nicest places we came across were definitely outside of the towns.

We stayed here once night. The breakfast was good, the room was average. Our room has a bathtub which was quite nice after a walk in the valley of temples. The beach was ok only, since rubbish was everywhere. The Valley of temple was amazing!

Some Hotels get it just right, and the Demetra does this in spades. Tucked away between olive trees and pines, just off the highway and within in sight of the temples, a short dirt road leads to a typically Sicilian dusty forecourt. Two friendly dogs and a cat flaked out on the tiles in the large porch in the shade to welcome us made it feel like coming home after a long hot day. The very friendly English speaking staff were just right for the relaxed 'vibe'. Always there to help, but unobtrusive - just as it should be. Dinner and breakfast were excellent in a lovely dining room, why would you want to go out? Excellent spotless and large room. The whole hotel is tastefully furnished throughout. Excellent free wifi. Outstanding value for the price, and in our view, a true 5* experience. The best hotel we have stayed in so far after 3 weeks touring Southern Italy. We wished we had arranged our tour to stay here 2 nights rather than one. We agree with previous comments - this is not a 'coach tour' hotel. It is a long hike from the museum to the temples in the heat but there are separate car parks at both. E3 all day for each.

What a lovely hotel, tucked away just off the main highway. The rooms are very nice, well furnished and very clean. Our room opened onto a very quiet courtyard made for enjoying a cool drink before dinner after the rigors of travel. As others have noted, it is a little bit away from other restaurants, so do arrange to eat there. We traveled with a small group and had a delightful evening here. Only negative is that the owner has friendly dogs that roam the parking area, and they will approach visitors. Just ignore them and they wander away. The parking area is gravel, so motorcyclist should use caution

Room Tip: Be sure your room opens onto the courtyard, it is delightful.
