My wife and I stayed here for the last week of August this past summer. We had visited Alassio 4 years ago and at that time said we would return to this beautiful seaside Italian town once we had children. Well with two young children in tow we were fortunate enough to choose Residence Le Terrazze as our home away from home this trip.
Egidio the owner is one of those "kind souls" you come across every once in awhile while traveling. Egidio could honesty not do enough for my family. Upon check in he made my 3.5 year old son feel very special based on the beach toy and bucket set that apparently every child receives upon check in. Egidio speaks 5 languages fluently and has now decided to enrol in Russian lessons as he says a few Russians have recently discovered Alassio and he wants to ensure he can communicate with them. Egidio was honest and truthful when it came time to recommendations for restaurants in Alassio. Egidio seems to always be around whether at the hotel or out and about riding his bike in town. The baby club offered by their sister Residence is very well appointed, spotlessly clean and provide my wife and I with 2 hours one early evening of alone time to get some shopping in. The baby club teacher loved my son and even know he speaks no Italian and she spoke very little English, they had a splendid time playing together.
The Residence itself is spotlessly clean and exceptionally well appointed for small town Italy. So clean in fact I believe it would be possible to eat the fresh baked crossiants they provide each morning on the hotel hallways. Bathrooms are very large by Italian standards. We booked a two bedroom apartment that looked directly at the sea and the views of the sunrise from the patio were surreal.
Alassio itself truly is the jewel of the entire Italian / French riviera. Countless playgrounds for children, incredible family run restaurants scattered throughout town, a friendly vibe, excelent shopping, a nightly passeggiata that rivals any city in Italy and without a doubt, the best beach in the Riviera due to the soft sand, calm waves and a very gradual incline to the depth of the water. The beach clubs are all meticulously cared for with each one catering to a different demographic.
There is a reason why Italians from Milan and Torino have returned to Alassio for their summer holidays for generations.
I've been to Italy 9 times and Alassio is by far and away my favorite little beach town. I look forward to returning to Alassio in the next few years and without a doubt will stay at Egidio's hotel again.

We have been visiting Alassio and staying at Le Terrazze each year for about 7 years now, every time it is lovely. It is spotlessly clean, freshly decorated and when ever we arrive, at what ever time of year Egidio Mantellassi and his family are kind, welcoming and tremendously helpful. It's become rather like visiting relations or good friends. The location can't be beaten, as 'on' the lovely clean sandy beach as you can get, with excellent cafes and restaurants right next door, and on the old town side boutique shops and 'Joan', an elegant beauty parlour owned by Signora Mantellassi. According to who we take with us, we have hired a variety of rooms and combinations of rooms, our last visit consisted of a lovely studio, bedroom and 2 bathrooms, and we do cook the occasional fresh pasta supper or have a light lunch on one of the several terraces over looking the sea. Roll on next year, we'll be going back.

Room Tip: All good rooms, nice to have a sea view but the Budello is fun to look at too; you can usually have use of a roof terrace so unless you want to spend a lot of time in the room, the more economic rooms are great too.

We stayed at the residence hotel for one week in September. We liked it very much as it was a clean spacious apartment. We booked an apartment, which in fact consists of 2 studios, so we had bedroom, two toilets and one big kitchen with sofa and dining area. The rooms are cleaned every day, but one have to take out the garbage.
The apartment was on the 2 floor, but not exactly facing the noisy street with cafes, apt number consisting of studios 203 and 204. We enjoyed the silence, we could see the sea and a common terrace.
The staff is excellent, ready to help.
Special note: very good place to stay with kids, as they provide a baby kit: the bed with nice and tidy linnen, small bath and a chair.
We liked as well the branded toiletries.
Alassio is a good place to stay, pretty seaside with a lot of cafes and restaurants. Le Terrazze is a definitely nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms with a seaside view can be a bit noisy if you are staying with the kids, however, the other side with the shops is also noisy, but not until late.

My two young children and I had a wonderful stay at Le Terrazze. The location was perfect - centrally located for shopping (including all-important supermarkets!), restaurants and seaside strolls, the view was just what we needed. Le Terrazze also provided everything I needed for my baby: cot, high chair and bathtub. The studio was more than adequate with a sizeable kitchen and bathroom. I would definitely recommend this place for families - the kitchenette was key in keeping my finicky boys happy.

Our first vacation by the sea in Italy (we usually go to Cote d'Azur in France) was a wonderful excperience! Residence le Terrazze was the perfect place to stay in the charming italian town Alassio - could't be more central, located on the promenade next to the beaches (Bagnis), surrounded by nice restaurants, bars and boutiques.
We had two rooms with connecting doors, and with the most beautiful view over the sea. The rooms were clean and quiet with everything we needed. Wifi is free, not working in the apartments on smart-phones and iPads, but on the terrasses the connection were super! (Important for our kids aged 12&14...)

We will defanitely recommend this place to friends and family, and are looking forward to another vacation here in the future.
