“Idyllic Location and friendly helpful staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014 via mobile

We spent four wonderfully relaxing days at Le Terrazze at the beginning of April. The apartment was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated with access to a charming little terrace, from where you can climb the spiral staircase to an oasis of a sea-facing roof terrace, where you can enjoy a peaceful few hours sheltered from the breeze.
The receptionist-cum-manicurist was very helpful and friendly as well as an accomplished beautician. When I asked the owner if nearby Albenga was really worth a visit, he turned out to be quite a historian who is more than happy to share his knowledge in impeccable English or Italian.
There are bicycles available to guests that give you the opportunity to explore beautiful Alessio at a relaxing pace.
Thank you to the wonderful staff and owner for making our short stay so perfect. We will be back!!

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that in a very short stay you could appreciate our services. We try to give our best always. And we like so much when we can help with info and addresses. Near Alassio there are hidden villages, Roman ruines, fantastic places where you can find our culture, make pictures, taste our really traditional recipes and even buy good Ligurian wines or extravirgin olive oil.
We remain at your disposal.
Best regars.

We have been coming to Alassio for several years now and are always treated like family by signore Montellassi and his staff. Both Villa Firenze and Le Terrazze both offer apartment style living vs. being cramped & transient in a hotel. The kitchenette is great so you can enjoy cooking some of the local cuisine. Le Terrazze couldn't be more ideally located for access to all the amenities Alassio has to offer, not to mention the spectacular view of the ocean. The facilities were meticulously kept & fun surprises such as signore Montellassi offering fresh lemons one morning, perhaps a bacci di alassio, or his charming descriptions of the area for your trip planning. We will always stay here for future visits and highly recommend to our friends and family.

Room Tip: ocean front is worth it

Thank you for the very good review you wrote. We try to do our best for our guests and every year we try to create something special. From June to September 2014, we organize NORDIC WALKING trips up the hills, amusements in "Solleone Adventure Park" in Alassio and once a week, an excursion to the Gallinara Island on a 17 meter "Don Carlo" ship.
We are waiting for you for a next stay.
Best regards to all your family.

Booked in for a couple nights just before New Years. They upgraded us to a one bedroom apartment which was well received and much appreciated.

Rooms were clean and well appointed.

Both the 1 bedroom we had and the standard room my parents had amazing balconies that had fantastic views.
Staff were friendly and accommodating - quick to fix the internet/wifi when we pointed out it wasn't working.
I would recommend this property to anyone wanting something cute as a good base to explore the cinque terre in summer as there are boats that leave from Porto venere to the 5 towns. In winter it's cute and cosy but the boats don't run so you have to head back to la spezia to get the train in.

We had a lovely stay.

My wife and I stayed here for the last week of August this past summer. We had visited Alassio 4 years ago and at that time said we would return to this beautiful seaside Italian town once we had children. Well with two young children in tow we were fortunate enough to choose Residence Le Terrazze as our home away from home this trip.
Egidio the owner is one of those "kind souls" you come across every once in awhile while traveling. Egidio could honesty not do enough for my family. Upon check in he made my 3.5 year old son feel very special based on the beach toy and bucket set that apparently every child receives upon check in. Egidio speaks 5 languages fluently and has now decided to enrol in Russian lessons as he says a few Russians have recently discovered Alassio and he wants to ensure he can communicate with them. Egidio was honest and truthful when it came time to recommendations for restaurants in Alassio. Egidio seems to always be around whether at the hotel or out and about riding his bike in town. The baby club offered by their sister Residence is very well appointed, spotlessly clean and provide my wife and I with 2 hours one early evening of alone time to get some shopping in. The baby club teacher loved my son and even know he speaks no Italian and she spoke very little English, they had a splendid time playing together.
The Residence itself is spotlessly clean and exceptionally well appointed for small town Italy. So clean in fact I believe it would be possible to eat the fresh baked crossiants they provide each morning on the hotel hallways. Bathrooms are very large by Italian standards. We booked a two bedroom apartment that looked directly at the sea and the views of the sunrise from the patio were surreal.
Alassio itself truly is the jewel of the entire Italian / French riviera. Countless playgrounds for children, incredible family run restaurants scattered throughout town, a friendly vibe, excelent shopping, a nightly passeggiata that rivals any city in Italy and without a doubt, the best beach in the Riviera due to the soft sand, calm waves and a very gradual incline to the depth of the water. The beach clubs are all meticulously cared for with each one catering to a different demographic.
There is a reason why Italians from Milan and Torino have returned to Alassio for their summer holidays for generations.
I've been to Italy 9 times and Alassio is by far and away my favorite little beach town. I look forward to returning to Alassio in the next few years and without a doubt will stay at Egidio's hotel again.

We have been visiting Alassio and staying at Le Terrazze each year for about 7 years now, every time it is lovely. It is spotlessly clean, freshly decorated and when ever we arrive, at what ever time of year Egidio Mantellassi and his family are kind, welcoming and tremendously helpful. It's become rather like visiting relations or good friends. The location can't be beaten, as 'on' the lovely clean sandy beach as you can get, with excellent cafes and restaurants right next door, and on the old town side boutique shops and 'Joan', an elegant beauty parlour owned by Signora Mantellassi. According to who we take with us, we have hired a variety of rooms and combinations of rooms, our last visit consisted of a lovely studio, bedroom and 2 bathrooms, and we do cook the occasional fresh pasta supper or have a light lunch on one of the several terraces over looking the sea. Roll on next year, we'll be going back.

Room Tip: All good rooms, nice to have a sea view but the Budello is fun to look at too; you can usually have...

We stayed at the residence hotel for one week in September. We liked it very much as it was a clean spacious apartment. We booked an apartment, which in fact consists of 2 studios, so we had bedroom, two toilets and one big kitchen with sofa and dining area. The rooms are cleaned every day, but one have to take out the garbage.
The apartment was on the 2 floor, but not exactly facing the noisy street with cafes, apt number consisting of studios 203 and 204. We enjoyed the silence, we could see the sea and a common terrace.
The staff is excellent, ready to help.
Special note: very good place to stay with kids, as they provide a baby kit: the bed with nice and tidy linnen, small bath and a chair.
We liked as well the branded toiletries.
Alassio is a good place to stay, pretty seaside with a lot of cafes and restaurants. Le Terrazze is a definitely nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms with a seaside view can be a bit noisy if you are staying with the kids, however, the other si...

My two young children and I had a wonderful stay at Le Terrazze. The location was perfect - centrally located for shopping (including all-important supermarkets!), restaurants and seaside strolls, the view was just what we needed. Le Terrazze also provided everything I needed for my baby: cot, high chair and bathtub. The studio was more than adequate with a sizeable kitchen and bathroom. I would definitely recommend this place for families - the kitchenette was key in keeping my finicky boys happy.
