I have been in this hotel for 2 nights for my b-day this yea. Adorable. Very confortable and cozy.

Rooms are very beautiful and you can see the vineyards from your window.

Plus, the restaurant is something special.

Very good choice for romance or just resting!

My wife and I have dined here before and loved it. Thius time we decided to book a room. Our room was large and nicely furnished. The bathroom and amenities were first class. best of all was the view of the vineyards from our corner room. Prior to dinner we grabbed a bottle of wine from one of the wineries we visited and sat outside drinking the wine as we gazed upon the beautiful hills planted with grapes. It was so relaxing. The dinner following that was spectacular in taste as well as presentation. We enjoyed the breakfast the next day and left fully satisfied with our room and dinner. This is a great place.

We recently stayed at La Locanda del Pilone. The only available room was the "Dependance" - “House in the Vineyards”, composed by an apartment with a double bedroom, a twin-bedded room and a bathroom. Very comfortable, well-heated, extremely quiet, its only drawbacks is that you need a car to reach the main building (about a quarter mile away) and that you have no WiFi service. But for the the price we paid (including breakfast) it really was unbeatable !
The surrounding views could leave you breathless.
The place itself is decorated with taste, the staff is highly professional and extremely helpful.
Food is a highly recommendable experience. Breakfasts are well stocked, do not hesitate to try their Parma ham as well as the scrambled eggs.
Dinner is a magnificent experience, the wine list seems endless, you may ask for menus with or without wine pairing, staff is (again) courteous, professional and very smiling. Dishes are sophisticated but retain all their exquisite italian roots.
All in all, a fantastic experience.

Room Tip: Only tried the Dependance - fantastic price / quality ratio if you accept to use your car and if you...

My fiancée and I stopped spontaneously at this restaurant as a friend had given us the address. We decided to have dinner, and then postponed our departure as they had an available room. You have to visit - if not only for the spectacular view from a terrace overlooking the wine yards. Wow! We took our aperitif here.

Food was excellent. We had three people serving us (only three tables were booked that evening). Very friendly staff. We had dessert outside.

Loved the room. Not expensive (EUR 110 in July 2013). Air con. Fantastic view. Breakfast ok but not impressive (little choice). Ate outside.

Highly recommended!!

My husband and I just returned from a five night stay at this property. They are located in the hills above Alba - once you find your way it is not bad - close to all of the hill towns. The property is a working winery/vineyard and the house itself is a refurbished farm house. Our room was #3 - which is a junior suite with a balcony (we were told this is the only room that has a balcony - but not sure about that). Anyway, the room was quite large but the furnishings are outdated (think early 50's). However, the room had everything you needed - nice bed and most importantly the view is outstanding! The bathroom was ok - again it needs updating - especially the blower dryer which is connected to the wall and is quite slow and of course there are no plugs in the bathroom - REALLY!

Breakfast was very good. They had a large selection of everything. The pastries and baked goods are made on the property and are truly delicious!

We had dinner at the hotel our last night (Michelin 1 star) and it was good but expensive. And unfortunately the night we had dinner, there were guests from the hotel that had small children - this is not a place for them. And when I am trying to have an intimate costly dinner - I don't want to hear small children!

The service at the hotel was great - they always were there to help and to make reservations. The location is close to everything you need - restaurants, shops, gelati, wineries and grocery stores.

Great location and very very nice and professional reception. We asked for a later breakfast and they let us found a beautiful table with nice cakes and biscuits made by them.
The depandance's room were we slept was really cosy and the bed very comfortable. There is a beautiful view on the hills and grapevines.
Unfortunately we couldn't taste the restaurant... but I am sure it has to be amazing!
Good stuff!!!

Saverio Tallano was the perfect host for our stay in the beautiful Alba/Barolo Wine Countryside. Our room in the cottage below the hotel and winery was very unique and comfortable. Dinner exceeded our expectations with excellent Boroli wines enhancing each course. The setting is perfect, with vineyards just outside the door. The Boroli Family has made this a “gem” of the Piedmont. This was a great experience and we would do it again.
