Hotel Villaggio Torre Normanna
Reviewed 14 July 2013

This hotel is for those who want peaceful rest.
Excellent staff and service, everyone is trying to do their best for the guests.
Excellent food and the cold white wine is of a very good quality.
Speciale pleasure you can get from animation group of young educated and always frendly and smiling team members! Hotel pools are clean and beautiful.
The beach is very close to the hotel and you can get there in 30 seconds by lift!
The only negative would be that there is no near shops but you can arrange hotel shuttle to near San Nicole small place for 3 euros ( two ways )
Generaly; we would come back to this hotel.

MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT- I chose this hotel because it had a private beach. Well, guess what, one staff claimed the elevator was not working and the other staffer blamed the weather. The weather was not the problem, it was the lazy or lack of staff. After five days of asking when it would be open my son begged them to let him and is girlfriend down, low and behold they took them. Did they offer it to me, the one who paid the bill, NO ! The waterline on the beach never changed, even when it rained two different times, so it wasn't the weather or the tide. Trust me I checked all the time. I want a refund!

Stayed five days. Most of the time the hotel had large groups they entertained. One group was a deaf group, at night they pounded on the doors since no one could hear them knock, this went on until 2AM!! Couldn't the hotel have put them in a separate section? While the groups received welcoming meals in the lobby everyone else had to hoof it to the restaurant 5 minutes up the hill, just ridiculous. Meal time is specific, if you are hungry outside of the two hour meal periods, then you are out of luck, unless you like bar food. ON that note, in order to use the bar you have to go to the receptionist desk and buy a drink card! Is this grammar school or what?

Breakfast was the same exact thing every day! Processed ham and cheese slices, rolls and croissants, cereal, boiled eggs and juice or coffees from a machine. BLAK! Lunch and dinner were much better though, but you did have to pay extra for that.

WiFi- not in the hotel rooms, just the lobby! Half the time it did not work. The lobby leaks water from the roof if it rains a little because of the pointed sky light. It was always packed with kids from all the groups. Could you find an electrical outlet either, NO.

Pools, not heated. Staff at the bars by the pools are not friendly or hate their job.

Rooms-OK, NO electrical outlet except if you unplugged the hairdryer in the bathroom you could charge something. NO clock or alarm clocks, this seemed to be the theme in Italy though. This hotel did have a phone in room. Ask to be on the second floor with a sea view, first floor is not all that great as there is a wall that occluded half the view.

Parking - The lot is far from the hotel entry, unless you happen to find an open place near the small front lot. The staff, when they care, flag you and make you go back to the big lot. What BS.

Maids started knocking on doors and yelling in the hallways at 8AM ! Yeah, I'm Sicilian, I know all about that. They were very nice, though, and I did leave them a tip because they kept the rooms very clean.

The lobby had dead plants and broken pots around the grounds, generally the place is not well kept, except the pool area. The whole place is just too spread out in general, not family oriented. I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: All the beds are hard as rocks. Rooms clean. If you insist on staying here ask for second floor sea...

This hotels is in a beautiful location overlooking the sea. The swimming pool and private beach are as lovely as any 5 star resort. The rooms were clean and functional. The bathroom was a disappointment as the shower was dirty and did not drain. The main complaint we had was the air conditioning was turned off by management very early every morning and the room would get unbearable. The breakfast was very limited but the lunch was great. The turn off to the hotel was poorly marked and terribly maintained. This hotel caters to families with children and has many activities for kids. Will we go back? Maybe, as this is the closest hotel to our family.

After a long time searching for a family hotel in Sicily that wasn't too expensive we opted for this hotel as it sounded it had everything we were after and it didn't fail to deliver. We stayed there a week full board. We were made to feel very welcome as the only english family there, everyone was really friendly and made us feel at home. The animation team were excellent, our 2 boys loved attending the kids club and mini disco every day and we also took part in some of the activities ourselves e.g aqua gym, tabletennis, football and darts. The room was huge and had a great sea view. The room was clean and in good condition and adaqate for a three star hotel. The food was excellent for three stars, apart from pasta and pizza there were lots of different types of fish, sea food and meat on offer and lots of vegetables and salad. Meals alo included mineral water and local wines. The private beach was reached by a lift and was clean and quiet. We spent most of our time around the pool, there was never a shortage of beds and the pool was better than most 5 star hotels we've been too. The location was great as it was close to Cefalu, Palermo, Monreal, Erice and Trapani which we visited in our hire car.

I have just returned from a stay of 10 days at Torre Normanna with my family and friends, and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays I have had! The animation team are fantastic and really made the holiday. There was plenty to do during the day from aqua gym, to archery, tennis lessons and dance lessons. The children were entertained in the mini club by two great girls. There is also a mini golf, ping pong tables and football. The food in the restaurant is excellent. It is buffet style, but there is plenty of choice for everyone. The staff are very friendly and professional. In the evening, there is a show by the animation team which is excellent, very professional and entertaining. I never felt the need to leave the complex for anything, as it was all to hand. I enjoyed my time so much, we have decided to go back there next summer. Last year, we went to a resort in Egypt, which was a higher star rating than this one, but I can honestly say that this hotel was far superior. The hotel is not a 5 * resort, as it lacks the little luxuries, but the rooms were more than adequate, we had a great sea view, and were very clean. I would recommend this hotel to everybody from families with young children ( like us), or for couples, or even singhle people (and we saw quite a few). The hotel was like one big happy family, and even if you arrive alone, you are always encouraged to get involved with something so you are never alone for too long!
