“Quiet Beach Hotel”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Stayed here for the last leg of our trip after visiting Rome ,Venice and cruising for a week.Booked private shuttle to FCO for the flight home. Its about an hour transfer @ 125 Euro for 4 people 4 large 4 med pieces of luggage.
Anzio is a beautiful "Quiet" seaside town. The hotel is an older traditional hotel with all the necessary amenities. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfy and clean, ask for the rooms at the front overlooking the sea with nice balconies 110,112 a little more $$
I highly doubt the reference to fraud more like a language issue or misunderstanding. The family that owns the beach bar and the hotel have no need to fleece their customers.
Take the opportunity to visit the water front beach bar it's right across the street.Chairs and umbrellas to rent typical European practice approx 12-15 euro per.Food and booze at beach bar are cheap.Staff very polite and accommodating.Beach jockey could of smiled a bit more but he worked hard at keeping everyone happy.Book chairs and umbrella at beach bar the hotel will provide discount coupon for hotel patrons.
Take a cab to town ask the hotel for Stefano he speaks English and is very accommodating you can take his recommendation(we did the first time and it was excellent)or just get out in town at the harbourfront restaurants.Cab ride for two couples return 20 euro you could walk but it's at least 1/2 hour to walk.Restaurants were excellent and numerous to choose from. While strolling the water front you can ask for a menu and make your choice of fresh seafood or Italian fare. The later you go the more people you will have to deal with in typical European style these folks eat late and enjoy the night on the water.
Being a WW11 landing for the Allies don't miss the Commonwealth and Beachhead Memorials very humbling experience to visit the cemeteries anytime, anywhere 'Lest we Forget'

Room Tip: Seaside room front of hotel more $ but nice balcony and seaside breeze.Wifi in the lobby.

Stayed here with wife and 2 small kids. They upgraded our room at no charge as I made a booking mistake. Let us check out very late, no charge again. Staff was EXTREMELY Helpful. Right across the street from the sea and beach. Only negative was that there is nothing else to do and no where to eat but pizza in the area. I would still highly recommend this hotel if you want to just go to the beach.

This is a nice, well run small hotel who offers B&B. The principle rooms, lobby, patio, pool were wonderful. The cafe and bar on site reasonable and pleasant. The breakfast was, by normal Italian standards a feast and very good. Parking is good and the location convenient. There are, for three of us with all our gadgets, too few electric outlets in the room. Additionally, it had very odd switching for the lights - really a puzzle of 15 minutes duration. No view, but a quiet room, across from public beach access and near the war memorial cemetery. Do not miss the memorial.

Bear in mind, we loved the private beach, the pool, the breakfast and the helpfulness of day time staff. We even didn't much mind the room, which did not seem the cleanest. What really threw us off was the old man behind the reception desk at night, who claimed we needed to pay more than owed. At the time we didn't notice but this kind of unprofessional, deceptive behavior does not only do the hotel name damage, it also exacerbates the stereotype of the unreliable, untrustworthy Italian.

Though this hotel could use a bit of updating, the room was comfortable enough for the one night we stayed. We enjoyed having a glass of wine and nosh on our balcony facing the sea. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. When we decided to change our mode of transportation from train to car, the young lady at the front desk not only arranged for a rental car for us, but had the car rental service drive over from Nettuno to pick us up! The buffet breakfast was the best we had during our three week stay in Italy! Overall, we would recommend this hotel.

Rather than drive from Rome in the early morning to catch the hydrofoil to Ponza, we decided to spend the night in Anzio.
The hotel is across the road from the small sandy beach (which was closed for the season, but still accessible). We had sea view rooms with terrace and patio furniture from which to admire the magnificent sunset in comfort.
The rooms (double for single use) were small and would need updating, especially the tiny and old-fashioned bathrooms.
We were told the restaurant was closed for lunch, but if we wanted dinner we should book before 7 pm (dinner being from 8 to 9 pm). When I went to book however I was told it was exceptionally closed that night.
The lobby, bar and dining room are spacious and decorated with nautical items, driftwood, and various artefacts - a little kitsch, but charming.
The pool area is in need of a lick of paint, and I had to fish out an astonishing number of drowned grasshoppers before I fet I could go into the water, which was bracingly cold. Serviceable towels were provided and we were allowed to take out our drinks.
The personnel, whilst a little elusive (clearly preferring each other's company to answering customers' queries), were charming and helpful. The owner personally escorted us out when we left with a warm farewell handshake.
Breakfast normally starts at 7.30 am but you can ask to have it earlier in the bar. As eight persons including us had requested that when we were there, the hotel simply opened the breakfast room early, so instead of just coffee and a croissant, we were able to enjoy a full breakfast with fruit juices, yogurt, cereals, pastries, and ham and cheese sandwiches.
As a relatively cheap overnight stay, it was good value and I would recommend it.

Room Tip: sea view rooms on the higher floors have great views and less traffic noise

This is a classic Italian hotel with lovely sea views. It exudes a level of cool that only an Italian hotel could. It is within walking distance of the town centre apart from the heat which is month dependent. The room we had was sea facing with an open balcony which had the sun all day. The only poor point was the bathroom which was tight for space with a poor shower. Overall an excellent stay. The reception / lounge iarea s a nice cool respite from the heat.

Room Tip: Within walking distance of Anzio centre, heat permitting, if you are not a fish fan try a small stre...
