“Bed hard as a rock”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

Hotel location okay but that's it. There is no porter to help with luggage but the desk manager did help somewhat. Parking for car is 13 € night. The single room was okay but the bed was hard as a rock. Pillows very lumpy...not a good night's sleep. Breakfast okay but no hot food. I suppose it is okay for the price but after driving all day throughout Tuscany I wanted some place more comfortable. The couch in the bar area is vinyl and not at all comfortable. This is not a four star hotel!!! If you can afford someplace better, do it.

Room Tip: Room 212 had a very hard bed...my friends were in 208 and had same issue.

This hotel is billed as a 4-star and is definitely not. The beds are lumpy and the pillows are hard slabs...so uncomfortable we were up all night. The air conditioning is not working well and we couldn't get the room cool. The first room was so small I asked for another which they gave me...not much larger but ok for 2 people. The lighting is mainly a ceiling light like the old days - awful. There was a blanket on the closet top that had stains all over it Disgusting! We did not unpack. Done in ugly red, black and silver - 70's anyone? The breakfast was just cold and bland. The location was the only thing good and the valet parking. We almost checked out but it was too late. This place needs a full redo and would avoid at all cost.

On a tour of central Italy by train, my wife and I stopped off in Arezzo for one night, the main objective being to see the wonderful frescoes by Piero della Francesca in one of the churches. The hotel is very well positioned, literally three minutes walk from the station and perhaps seven or eight from the picturesque central square and the attractive pedestrian-only streets around it.

I had booked a superior room, and it turned out to be on the top floor, enormous, with an incomparable view over the city rooftops towards the many ancient church towers. The lady who showed us to the room came back a few minutes later with a big bowl of fruit, and that constituted our lunch for the day. (In the town we had pastries and coffee later on, and later still a great dinner in the main square.) A small niggle was a musty smell in the bathroom, which otherwise was well-equipped. There was no obvious reason for it. Unlike other respondents we heard absolutely no street noise despite overlooking the large roundabout that was mentioned. The buffet breakfast I would describe as average; there were very few people in the dining room, not much atmosphere, and one didn't feel like lingering. Despite that for a one-night stay like ours I would recommend the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel recently and it was really nice. This hotel is located in the centre of Arezzo which is very convenient. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Every member of their staff was polite and very helpful. Would definitely go back!

The hotel is located on a major traffic circle in the center of town, which is very convenient to the train station and the sites. It is very noisy however, and you must close the windows to get any peace. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was not working and the room was almost unbearable. Additionally, I was traveling with my adult daughter and we were given a room with only one bed because there were no rooms available with two beds apparently. Sleeping was not really possible under these circumstances. The rooms are small and dark and filled with outdated furniture. The wifi worked intermittently. When the above mentioned shortcomings were brought to the attention of the front desk manager, he reprimanded me for complaining and did nothing to adress any of the problems. Don't stay here. It's an unfriendly place.

A lovely gem of a hotel, located within walking distance of both the train station and the center of the old town. The modern rooms are very clean and quiet (we had room facing the back, as opposed to the main street which is probably noisier). The staff is very attentive and professional. Special treat - they have a lovely terrace on the roof where we sat and watched the sunset over Arezzo sipping negronis. Wonderful memory!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the main street are noisier.

A nice hotel with a perfect location. Just imagine to be here a spring day, even in January the sun gave a nice relaxing view from the roof terrace. The room was personal and bed was very comfortable. A great buffet breakfast with great italian coffee. You are right in the city center and everything is in walking distance.
