“Great hotel, great location.”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

All in all the hotel is excellent. The staff are friendly and were keen to make our stay a pleasant one! The rooms are light and airy with modern décor and comfortable beds. Linen and towels are changed daily. The restaurant is well situated (always request a table by the window for dinner!) and looks out over the marina. The harbour is surrounded by hills which are lit up at night. Food is good and although the wine list lacks anything below €30 for Red and €40 for White it offers a good range of local as well as other wines. Pool bar is good G&T @ €15 is perhaps a little steep but lots of nibbles so can't really complain!
All the waiting staff were excellent and really went out of their way to ensure that the high standards were maintained throughout.
The only thing that let the hotel down was the Broadband, it was sporadic at best and often didn't work at all. Disappointing at best, a serious inconvenience at worst for people who need to keep up with their business life but they assured us that the matter is in hand and would be upgraded this year.

We have just returned from a week of relaxation at the Grand Hotel. We went to do nothing and that's what we did, we had been on the go for a while and needing a break this hotel ticked all the boxes for us.

The dinner bed and breakfast package was good value for a hotel of this quality level. Although it is actually quite a large hotel complex (146 rooms) it certainly had the feel of a smaller place which is attractive for us.

Our room was a superior overlooking the main pool, it was spacious had a very comfortable large bed and an excellent bathroom with all amenities that would be expected. In addition there was a large balcony to while away the time on the one day the weather was not quite up to scratch.

The swimming pool is clean and the multi-position sun loungers extremely comfortable and plenty of umbrellas for those like us who prefer not to sit in direct sunlight all day.

The hotel complex is adjacent to the harbour which contained several multi-million dollar sea going superyachts and it was extremely interesting to wander about watching the goings on although there is not much in the village itself. If you want shopping though Porto Cervo is only a short ride away.

The hotel complex though is so alluring that our hire car stayed put for the week in the large (and free) outdoor car park very nearby.

What perhaps impressed us most is the food and service in the restaurant. We had opted for the three course dinner and in a week nothing was repeated. All the dishes were of a very high standard not to mention the wide ranging buffet breakfasts.

There are plenty of local wines on the wine list, prices are a little expensive but not outrageously so for a hotel operating at this standard. The staff everywhere were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

For a couple wanting a relaxing break this is certainly the place to go and we would have no hesitation in returning sometime.

Room Tip: There are a lot of different room options but the superiors overlooking the pools are to be recommen...

We stayed here for 4 nights and we are very happy! The hotel is clean and nice, the staff is very frendly and polite! You need a cat to get there, but Porto Cervo and the beaches are very close, actually, the location is an advantage, as most of the hotels in Porto Cervo are surrounded by noise and hustle. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but can't really complain. The dinner was horrific though - we had to book the room with half board (there was no other choise) and although the restaurant is very beautiful and the location is unbeatable, the food is not good at all!! They defenitely need to change their cook/chef urgently!!!!! The staff was nice and frendly at the restaurant, but as the food was terrible, we couldn't enjoy the dinner. Almost every night we went out to look for some better restaurants. If the dinner was ok, we would happily give maximum points to the hotel, but now we have to give 4 out of 5.

I stayed at Grand Poltu Quatu for 3 nights with my husband as part of a 10 day trip to Italy. The location of the hotel is good as in it is only a few minutes drive from Porto Cervo. For the price we paid and as compared to other 5 star hotels in the area, i must say we got a very good deal. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, there is no extra cherry on top! The breakfast and quality of food were less than average, on most days we would find that the food had already finished at the buffet. There is no beach at the resort however they have free access to 2 beaches near by. We went on one day to a public beach around 10 min drive away. The most beautiful beach i have ever seen. Also advised by Sara at the reception who was very helpful and sweet. It is a must to rent a car when in sardinia as the island is big and there is a lot of moving around. We rented a Fiat 500 from the airport and returned it there upon departure. We spent most of our evenings at Porto Cervo restaurants and pubs as the Poltu Quatu area tended to be quiet at night. I have no major complaints about the hotel but as previously mentioned i felt it was just a good place to start your day and come back to at night. Would probably look for a different hotel next time.

We did not stay at this beautiful spa, we stayed in the marina. The hotel is stunning, reminded me of a Bedouin tent, all flowing lines, white and earthy color. I desperately need some 'me' time. The hotel reception was super friendly, my bookings made and I spent a wonderful afternoon in the spa. The staff is helpful and excellent at what they do. Especially, Alessandra, my beautician. They offer basic services as well as epilation, make-up, Face rituals (I opted for the 'Prestige', my skin said thank you!), Body Experiences like massages and purification. The Wellness Spa has a hammam/turkish bath, saunas, relax area and exclusive treatments.
Well worth a visit.

I stayed in Grand Hotel (resort) Poltu Quatu two weeks ago with my three other friends. We booked the Two Bedroom apartment and the reservation was through the phone and the reservation agent was so friendly and helpful. The rate was good compared to the other hotels in the area specially it is 5 stars hotel. The resort is 5 minutes drive to Porto Cervo. It is so close to Baja Sardinia also, 4 minutes drive only.
You must have your own car if you are staying in this hotel, because you need to go to Porto Cervo or Baja Sardinia for shopping or having dinner. The hotel does not have direct beach, so if you are looking for resort with direct beach, then this is not the one. They have a shuttle that takes you to their beach, they have two beaches. We preferred to go to Baja Sardinia which is nice and busy beach.
I do recommend this resort for couples and newly weds.
It is quite, clean and has friendly staff.

Regards,
Ghazi Alosaimi
