Hotel is located in a hidden bay with unique view on water, has a nice clean garden, very comfortable and beautiful dining facilities... Lobby area is very nice and specious.
However, we experienced some negative moments during our stay. I took a note of them:
To my opinion, the hotel is good for adults only. There are some dangerous objects in the design of hotel, which are not suitable for children: flip-flop doors, a lot of steers, burning candles on the low tables. No children play ground or a pool. Hotel does not have any entertainment activities.
Only Italian press provided. Swimming pool water was very cold, not possible to swim. It is not heated. Our room was small, and bathroom was very little with very very small shower cabin...
Walls between rooms are not sound proof, we could hear what all our neighbors did, so it was noisy. The hotel is isolated in a bay, you need a car to go out, even to supermarket. No restaurants around in walking distance. As to service; it was not consistent. At the restaurants service was excellent, very polite and service oriented restaurant staff did a great work! However, reception staff was not pro-active, they were argumentative and defensive..
Food was fine. Breakfast had enough choices, although the variety of hot dishes could be better, but fresh cookies and cakes every day were delicious. For dinner some dishes were very tasty, when others pretty plain and not interesting. I hope our experience will help you.

Room Tip: Rooms with see view are preferable.

Dear Guest,

It’s very appreciated your time to review your stay with us, receiving our guest’s feedback is very important to us in order to constantly improve the services we offer and to exceed your expectations.

We are glad that you liked our hotel and its location as well as its dining facilities, however we are so disappointed to learn that you didn’t have a positive experience in some other points:

Regarding the hotel structure, the scenography of the live cascade and the pool situated in the middle of the complex with a reserved area and pool for children, as well we do have a kids club but with an extra charge, yet we don’t recommend leaving the children unattended specially if they’re 16 months infants, thus we regret you couldn’t swim in our pools but since we are a summer season Hotel no information was published by us anywhere about any heated pool.

During your stay from the 14th of may till the 28th, the weather in Sardinia this year was unfortunately unstable and very windy, our well known private beaches (the Grande Pevero and Liscia di Vacca), weren’t yet opened for security reasons, but yet we gave our guests the opportunity to use our shuttle bus to reach the nearby public beaches.

As you know you got a great offer for your stay in Poltu Quatu and even upgraded to a seaview accommodation, plus free entrance to the sauna

Regarding the activities: our guest relations and concierge have offered all types of excursions and activities available in the area, from sailing boats to excursions in the traditional Sardegna, Golf playing, we have a diving center, a tennis court and gym at our guests disposal and many others.

With reference to the to the restaurants that can be reached by walking outside the hotel, right outside the hotel we have the Tanit restaurant, L’orso, L’orsetto and the Caracol restaurant all reachable by walking and they were all opened.

All of this was followed up by our colleagues at the reservation and the front desk as well as our Guest Relation, so we are very surprised to learn that they didn’t give you a good impression or that they weren’t proactive.

All our guest’s communications are in italian and english and our receptionists and guest relations are always at the disposal of our guests in Russian, german, french, Arabic and spanish

Thank you for your suggestion concerning the wall proof rooms we will definitely make treasure of your suggestion.

We will be at your disposal for any further information you may need, best regards,

We spent a week in May before the start of official season, so the hotel was ideally tranquil. I cannot say enough of the beauty of the hotel. The rooms are impeccable and the view is phenomenal. It's nestled in the bay with one side of the harbor and the other of the mt. The staff are so professional meeting your every need. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. The pool is so beautiful. Ok so this place is Paradise !!!!

Room Tip: The pizza restaurant is phenomenal

This is a lovely hotel in the most beautiful setting but due to its location you really do need a car.
We went for relaxation and certainly found it fitted the bill perfectly. We were a little out of season and very few of the shops and restaurants were open so we struggled with a lack of variety of restaurants. The food in the hotel is good but not excellent but that is probably more to do with the fact that we like sauces with our main course and most meals were quite dry. If you eat in the hotel restaurant be careful not to eat "off menu" as this can be extremely expensive - we ordered 2 green salads which were little more than glorified lettuce and were charged 28 euros for them.

Be aware not to book the hotel taxi as we ended up paying 35 euros as opposed to 20 euros to Porto Cervo.

There are lots of lovely things to do and see around the area and we would highly recommend it.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review of our hotel, your comments are very much valued and we appreciate your positive comments.

We regret we were not informed during your stay that our food didn’t reach your expectations, surely we could have taken your suggestion and meet your requirement, our chef and staff are open mind and appreciate any suggestions that might have made your stay at the best.

Concerning the taxi of the hotel: it is as always a choice from Guest, we did offer you to call another taxi from an outsider company excluding any hotel responsibility for any inconvenience.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcoming you in the near future and please do not hesitate to contact us if we might be of any further assistance.

We spent our honeymoon at The Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu, and it could not have been a more beautiful and relaxing place to go. Our view from our balcony (fountain pool view/mountains) was stunning-it really put a smile on our faces every morning! The hotel staff were extremely attentive and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them, and we were always greeted with a cheery "Bongiourno" :-) Our room was always clean and tidied by the time we returned from our day's excursions, a perfect environment to relax and unwind in the evening. The hotel restaurant La Bahia was one of the highlights of the trip, the food and service was impeccable, in particular the delectable breakfast buffet every morning-heaven!
The hotel also included a spa centre in which I enjoyed a wonderful massage and special 5 star treatment, however it was disappointing the Turkish bath was not completely working-there was hot steam but no running water! After a 4 night stay, we decided to extend our trip for a further 3 nights as we were extremely impressed with the service all round. The hotel is situated in one of the most luxurious areas in Sardinia, Costa Smeralda therefore it was expensive however well worth it. We would certainly recommend this hotel if you wish to relax and forget about the world, as we definitely did and would love to return again in the future!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment villa. The location is a little out of Porto Cervo and unless you intend to stay only in the hotel resort, it is important that you have a car. A convenient safe car park just outside the hotel is available for free and we were always able to find parking there. The breakfast is great, the hotel itself cannot be faulted. The port facilities are convenient with boat hire (which we did and really enjoyed), a few independant cafés and restaurants available - but i still would not recommend just staying at the resort. There just isn't enough to do. The pool is perfect for children and to relax at. A little on the expensive side, but this resort is just outside the most expensive area of Costa Smeralda (Porto Cervo). If you're able to get it at a fair rate, I highly recommend it.

Excellent resort in particular thanks to its kind and welcoming staff. Facilities though a bit date very pleasant. Gym worn out and dirty with various machines broken. Restaurant good enough to consider half board.
