Hotel Citti
Ranked #49 of 74 Hotels in Arzachena
Reviewed 21 July 2013

The hotel was a cheap and not so cheerful option for staying in Arzachena. Our room was clean, cool with a good bathroom and a comfortable bed, though a bit tired. The owners were, at best shy and at worst unwelcoming, though the chamber maids were perfectly nice. The owners gave the impression they hated their business, never smiled or greeted, kept us waiting while he texted on his mobile.. Breakfast was ok but you had to ask for milk and it was dispensed by the owner onto cereal and taken away again. The pool looked clean enough but there was no shade, broken chairs and the area was untidy. The reception areas were used like the family living room, tvs on with cartoons and shopping channels, washing on the floor in laundry basket, vacuum in the corner, boxes and rubbish left in corners.. Ok if you want somewhere cheap and clean passing through but wouldn't recommend for any longer. More like a motel than a hotel really. Don't think I'd use it again.

We stayed this summer in Arzachena at Citti Hotel - a family run business. Altough we've read mixed reviewed, we've booked three nights and now I can say that it was a good decission. Che bella sorpresa! we've found warm people who welcome us with a smile, moreover make us fill our business is very appreciated. The room was cool and quiet, exemplarily clean with a large bathroom. The breakfast was delicious, my only recommendation would be if they can offer it a bit earlier, 7:00 am would be excellent, especially for the quest who wants to have a good start of the day and accomplich a lot in this beautiful area.
I found Citti hotel as an excellent home base for discovery Costa Smeralda, which is only 15 minutes away by driving.
Don't miss Spiaggia Liscia Ruia, Spiaggia Rommazinno, Capriccioli and Spiaggia del Principe. My favorite was the last one mentioned.
Other nice places to visit while you're in Arzachena would be: Coddu Ecchju - for a nice taste of "tombe dei giganti" in Sardinia, also Olivastri Millenari - some of the oldest trees in Europe and maybe in the world (it is quite impressive to see a 3,800 years old olive tree, measuring about 20m in circumference).
Enjoy a beautiful time there!

We just returned from a late May trip just before the season. We had the hotel practically to ourselves. The location is perfect for doing short trips to different places on the coast. There are several places in Arzachena to sample local dishes and ice cream and next door they sell some of the best pastries ever.
The management/family are very friendly. You can ask for a snack or coffee at any time and it's very reasonable.
The suit was spatious and very clean.
The pool warmed up towards the end of the stay when days started getting hotter for us.
One tip relating not as much to the hotel but the whole region - try and learn some phrases in Italian before you go.

Just a place to stay if you are in Arzachena. A very non-descript building, but the rooms are OK. Large & spotlessly clean, with good sized bathrooms for such properties.60 Euros double. Unfortunately the hotel has very unpleasant management. From the time we checked in to when we checked out, the owner/manager uttered 1 single word ---- "documents" ---- when we checked in. Otherwise not another word. Breakfast was a complete joke. 4-5 croissants of unknown by the way they looked. 4-5 containers of yogurt. A container of dried cereal, but no milk in site. No coffee, tea, water or juice either for that matter. We were the only ones in the dining room so I finally went to the front desk & asked the owner/manager for "Cafe" & he lumbered into the kitchen area & made a couple of lukewarm cups & placed brought them to the table without so much as a grunt & left the room. We went behind the counter to find sugar & a spoon, & knew better than to ask for a 2nd cup. Did not eat any of the lovely offering & left, never to return. This is management that must hate what they are doing. The property is OK, but apparently does not care if they get business or not. If you stop over in this town however, we found a great restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building near the center of the old town, on the main road coming into town from Olbia --- LA TAVERNA. Great food & service & reasonable for Italy.

This place was great because it was very welcoming to see this family run/residing hotel in action. The grandparents were hanging out in the TV room speaking a friendly version of broken English, the children of various ages were roaming around and the two brothers running the place couldn't do enough for us. It was a perfect location, minutes from the coast of 'Smerelda as well; Paulo was to it's immediate north (Well worth going to LaMaddelina Island off of Palau; best part was the uninhabited island you take a bridge over to from LaMaddelina. Some of the best beaches I've ever seen! You can buy a delicious Sardinian lunch off of the canteen trucks set up in the beach in the cove areas with picnic tables overlooking the coast).
This Citti hotel also had a pool and good food. It was remarkably inexpensive. I was a bit cautious because of the low price but wanted a pool, which was hard to find in this area. I really think that I might have found the best kept secret jewel in this area. If you go, let them know that the lady who gave them the Starbucks coffee beans gift sent you.
Enjoy!
