“Small and perfectly formed”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

We arrived at lunchtime with no reservation and were seated immediately. 30mins later and we wouldn't have been so lucky! Lots of local, fresh ingredients led to simple but delicious food. The best olives Ascolani so far, fried to perfection and consequently sublime. The kids were well taken care of with a fabulous pasta with ragu. It was pasta all round and some of the best we've had on this trip. Thoroughly recommend going out of your way to eat here, you won't be disappointed.

“simple little restaurant”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

pretty good restaurant, the pasta was a little too saucy and the fried antipasto was a little too fried. Maybe a little more attention to detail would be good.

“Fantastic food”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

All the food was extremely fresh, local to the region and beautifully prepared. The service was lovely and very welcoming. My husband still dreams about the veal. Great wine as well.

“Romantic Atmosphere and Traditional Dishes”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

I can’t believe that I’ve never reviewed the restaurant where we ate the first night we were in Ascoli – and many times since then. It is located a couple blocks off the main piazza. This is a small, romantic, family-owned restaurant with classic dishes of the best foods the region has to offer. The service is personal and the Italian-only menu changes frequently. They provide the most complete descriptions of their dishes I’ve ever seen. Their pastas are home made and delicious and the meats well prepared with mushrooms in abundance. We’ve had some incredible appetizers too. Try it – you’ll thank yourself.

“Exceptional pasta”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

This family-run restaurant served excellent pasta. The spaghetti with tomatoes and garlic was perfect. The tagliatelle carbonara with fragrant black truffles was exceptional. My scallopini with funghi was very good, though the grilled beef was far better. But go for pasta.

The Italian speakers, whether solo or with business associates, appeared well satisfied with their pasta and meat dishes.

The restaurant is informal. The charming vaulted dining room transmits sound too well. An ebullient German guest was neither as funny nor as interesting as his lack of an 'inside voice' warranted, but one could have a quiet conversation easily.
