“Great hotel, close to piazza”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

Just returned from a few days at this lovely hotel. It is in a perfect location, close to the Piazza del Popolo. Rooms were great, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was lovely. Highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning one day!!

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in early November. No problem having 2 beds in very nice quiet room. Continental breakfast was adequate and served in a pleasant room. Front desk staff, especially Simone, was very helpful, and took our car to the garage - it is almost impossible to find the hotel when driving your own car! We parked in a paid parking lot and walked to find the hotel which is In a one way street. The staff would bring your car to the hotel when needed. Interesting town but the restaurants do not open until 7.30 or 8 pm which is late when it gets dark at 5 pm and there is not much to do between 5 and 8. The stores close Monday morning and every day from approximately 12.30 lunch time to 4 pm. There are lots of interesting little villages around this area to visit and the Adriatic is about a 30 minute drive away. Of course most of the tourist attractions - including restaurants - are closed in November . We found an interesting fish restaurant on the beach in San Benedetto.

Room Tip: No swimming pool or spa. Rooms at back are quiet.

Just returned from a weekend stay at this lovely hotel. I have been to Ascoli Pecino many times to visit relatives and this is by far the nicest place we have stayed. Great location, great rooms and a great breakfast area. The spa was being redone at this time. Staff was very nice and helped in any way they could. If going to Ascoli and want to stay in the city center, you can't go wrong with the Palazzo die Mercanti!!

Not an easy find by car, although they did e-mail directions, which I neglected to copy. Desk staff was very cordial and helpful. We parked in front of the hotel to unload and the desk staff took the car to a garage (they offered to instruct me as to taking the car there myself, but I left it to them). The hotel is close to the Piazza del Popolo, the city's main sight.

Room Tip: we were in the back of the house facing an alley. I would guess that was quieter than the front whi...

This hotel is very well located near the beautiful Piazza del Popolo in the centro storico. It is not easy to find if you are driving in. There are lots of one way streets and we saw no signage for the hotel. That said, Federico left the front desk and walked down the street with me to drive our car to the front door so we could unload. We had reserved parking for our two night stay and thought it well worth the 15 Euro per day charge.
Our first room was 105 on the first floor in the back. It was small and still with no working AC or fan. When we opened the window for air the noise from the alleyway, the intense smell of fried fish and the light from a street lamp made for an untenable situation. We were moved the next morning to a room on the second floor, 201, and we were happier with the brighter room and the working fan.
Wifi access requires a special username and password that work for a specified number of hours. Mine ran out before our departure and I had to ask for a new code. Not horrible, but is this a necessary inconvenience?
Annamaria in the breakfast room and Rolando on the front desk went the extra service mile.
Breakfast is good with fresh fruit, yogurts, cold meats and cheeses, sweet rolls and the like.
At night, after 11 there is no one on the front desk.
We did not eat in the hotel's restaurant La Locanderia but we heard the food was very good and the atmosphere seemed festive on a Saturday evening.

Room Tip: Do not choose a room on the back of the hotel if you like to open your windows. The smells and soun...

parking is an issue. You can either have the hotel valet park for 15 euros a day or park in a lot outside the city for 9 euros a night and walk to it.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during a bicycle tour of Italy. The amenities and breakfast were everything we could ask for, but it was the friendly (English speaking) staff that stood out for us. Federica, in particular, greeted us warmly and found a place in a nearby garage to safely store our bikes. We were even invited to use the tools in the garage for a bit of bike maintenance! We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely city!
