This is our first time staying at the Hotel Kriss for a 5 day break. Everything about our stay was wonderful. Firstly, we arrived fairly tired and a bit late for dinner, but Bettina, the lovely helpful lady on reception asked us what we'd like to eat and said Elena would be happy to make us something, which was really welcome. Elena was etremely hard working and nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel is a smaller, family hotel and this made it feel homely, friendly and welcoming. The rooms were modern with good sound proofing of traffic noise. Beds are usually a little on the firm side, which I'm not keen on, but these were more comfortable and less hard than previous hotels and I slept very well.

We have been to beautiful Bardlino three times now, and adore the place, but the Hotel Kriss was the best yet for it's gorgeous views and situation right on the lake. We chose a front facing room with balcony and the panoramic views were breathtaking. The hotel has it's own private jetty, and it's possible to sunbathe, or swim in the lake. We were very lucky to have exceptionally warm and sunny weather and even in April, there were people swimming in the lake.

There was a delicious selection of food at the buffet breakfast, which catered for all tastes - mostly continental, but eggs also made to order. I didn't catch the name of the kind waitress, but as I like my coffee very strong, every morning she offered to make me a Cafe Longo (double espresso) personally.

Just a short 8 minute walk to the centre of Bardolino town, I personally loved the wooden board walk which curls around the whole lake with its stunning views. It gives under foot and is great to walk along - kind to sore knees or bad backs!

Thank you Hotel Kriss for our fabulous stay. Love, love LOVE Bardolino and will be back again soon.

Room tip: Front room 308 with balcony offers outstanding views. Believe the upper side rooms with lake views would still offer good view of lake.

We had a wonderful holiday at the Kriss hotel.. The hotel was of a very high standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel transport to and from the airport which was a great service. Breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed an omelette each morning, along with fruit, wonderful pastries and plenty of coffee.. Our room ' 210' had a balcony overlooking the lake which was amazing !. Our room was modern and spotless!. The hotel was just a short walk into the centre of Bardolino.with easy access to the water taxis. The hotel has its own private jetty, we enjoyed relaxing there after a busy day of sightseeing.

I can't praise the hotel enough, It was our first visit to the Lakes and we intend to return.

A good boutique hotel located on the water. Professional stuff
Nothing very special about the utilities
They don't supply the rooms with boilers and they don't have any attractive products to consume in the mini bar

Small boutique type hotel, great location and view of the lake. Nice and elaborate breakfast and the best part is the contemporary design of the room. Love it !!
Would recommend hotel for the couples or solo !

Got back yesterday after 4 nights in Bardolino, staying at the Kriss. Other reviews state a 10 min walk into town but my OH and I struggled to take this long, even with walking slowly. It's perfect in this sense - a short walk takes you into town with all its lovely bars and restaurants. We managed to get a parking space out the back which was lucky as if you park on the road you have to move it before Thursday as there is a market right outside the hotel! The sunbeds out the front were great for a spot of sunbathing / people watching and although the footpath does cross in front of these it's no different from being on a beach with everyone walking past. The added bonus of bar service (prices in line with the town so not the usual 'hotel hike') also helps! We didn't have a problem getting one on the occasions we wanted to. Breakfast was your standard Italian fare - cheeses, meats, fruit, bread etc although cereals, toasts, pancakes and sausage and eggs were available too. It was a stunning start to the day sitting out looking over the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed advice - be prepared to handover passports on arrival for a little while - they still like a copy of them in Italy and expect to pay a tourist tax on departure (€12 for the two of us which may be calculated per night). There is a supermarket on the main road behind the hotel where we bought some bottles of water and beer to have in the hotel room. Not much room in the minibar but we managed and they didn't disappear like someone had mentioned in a previous review! Tourist info is also on this main road and you can easily buy bus tickets here should you want to use the bus. Anyway, hotel does what you'd expect any hotel to do - comfy bed (firm mattress but I loved that), clean room and ensuite, easy to operate air conditioning and a nice breakfast. TV had BBC one and two but as we were on holiday we didn't even switch it on. A pool would be the icing on the cake but most people seem to be happy swimming / jumping in the lake. They did have plans in the lobby which looked like the new hotel being built on the corner just up the road so they may well be expanding. Great stay - would definitely return!
