We concur with all recent reviews. This an exceptional hotel: wonderfully attentive service, comfortable and spotless bedrooms and bathrooms, plenty of parking, great location for the Lake and resort. The breakfast selection was superb with the option of ordering an omelette, freshly-cooked, espresso and cappucino upon request as well as the usual breakfast drinks.
A happy staff who obviously love their work.

Great value.

We must return.

Room Tip: All lake view rooms have a great-sized balcony.

For a 3* hotel, Hotel Gardenia and Villa Charme is exceptional in everyday. Staff are professional and courteous. From start to finish ( which included emails answered promptly before we even arrived) we could not fault the service of the staff and owners. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was delicious and the short 10 min walk to bardolino is one of the most picturesque walks into town I've ever had from a hotel. We loved the pool for the Villa Charme, always had service ( beers and ice cream!) around the pool and on the weekend, was even treated to a fashion show around the pool. Air con was perfect, €3.50 for a small bottle of prosecco from the minibar was a bargain. Would definitely stay there again. We were gutted to leave and return back to Blighty.

Everything was just great from the welcome drink to leaving for home. The staff and owners were friendly, very accommodating - and there was always plenty of them around at the key times. The breakfast was great, plenty of it, good selection (some bacon and sausage would make it perfect) The rooms (and the hotel in general) was spotless. And the pools were never overcrowded.
All in all, a great time had by the whole family.

If I was being ultra picky, the temperature of the pool was a tad on the cold side - but, as it was hot in the sun so any pool would probably be chilly.

Room Tip: The better ones have balconies, but you need to book early as this is a relatively small hotel and t...

We booked this hotel for a week for our first holiday away with our two girls aged 2 and 1. It was perfect, a great location to walk along the lake to bardolino and great to jump in the car and go to gardaland etc. the staff were very friendly particularly the lady with blonde hair and glasses (sorry don't know her name) and very accommodating as our youngest daughter is lactose intolerant.

On arrival the staff are very welcoming they are extremely helpful and have great knowledge of the area. This hotel is exceptionally clean everything is kept to a very high standard the rooms look quite newly decorated. If you stay here make sure you book a balcony room we didn't and we had a room on the side with no balcony and no view at all but we only stayed a few nights otherwise we probably would have asked for a different room with a balcony. The hotel is very German and Dutch orientated the tv is only in German which was annoying because the weather was not good at all when we were here , it was way below average temperature with rain and thunder most of the time ! The weather was so much better in UK although the locals did say this was a very unusual occurrence ! The food is nice quite a good selection for breakfast continental, omelettes, eggs . Nice clean pool area. I can't say anything negative at all about the hotel. Turn right outside of the hotel and it's about a 20 min walk to the harbour with loads of restaurants and mostly clothes shops. Turn left outside of hotel and it's about a 45 min walk to Lasize along the lake which is lovely if it's a nice day. Turn right outside the hotel and go through Bardolino harbour and it's about an hours walk to Garda. Movieland is worth a visit as they have some good shows and the Rambo show is excellent ! Also there are barely any queues for the rides which is great if you have kids there are some great, fun rides as well. The only downside of the whole trip was the weather it was so depressing coming away to rain and cloud we had only one hot day.

Great hotel. Our room was on first floor with a view over pool & lake. The room was to a very high standard, which was echoed by the staff, breakfast and location.

A previous comments, only a 10/15 minute walk to Bardolino, which was ideal for a stroll along lake. We also walked (& hired bikes from hotel) to Garda & Lazise (30 min walk).

We would definetely recommend & stay at the Hotel Gardenia & Villa Charme again.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay in Hotel Gardenia and were delighted with our choice of hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions of things to do and places to eat. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of olive oil on our departure.

We had a car so only ate breakfast in the hotel once...it was fine. The pool was smaller than I expected and was FREEZING but wasn't too bad once you take the plunge just took some getting used to!

The location of the hotel was great for us but it is about a 15 minutes walk from the town centre so some people may prefer to be closer in.

There is a huge German presence in Bardolino, in all of the restaurants and definitely in this hotel. All of the staff spoke German, Italian and English so it was very easy to communicate.

All in all, a great hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

Room Tip: Our room was in the loft, on the 5th floor but this didn't bother us. It was nice and secluded a...
