Just back from 11 nights at this wonderful hotel a short distance from Bardolino. What a great little find! Claudia and her staff are 'top notch' and nothing is too much trouble! We received some great 'insider' tips from Claudia about things to do, transport and lovely eating places. The bikes were a real bonus and we made use of them every day - they are well maintained by Claudia's assistant (sorry, can't remember his name) and there was never a problem getting a bike for all of us (4 in total). Breakfast receives top marks (5* +), in fact the best breakfast by far we have ever known in a hotel anywhere!
We've had a fantastic holiday seeing this beautiful part of Italy, but what's really made it special is this perfect little hotel! We have no hesitation in highly recommending it!

Lovely quiet hotel set back from the main road. Fabulous views from our spotless top floor room.
Claudia and her staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and couldn't resist the cakes freshly baked every morning. Borrowed the free bicycles daily to ride into Bardolino, Lazise and Garda, probably the best way to travel as the main road was always busy.
Pool area never felt crowded with plenty of sun loungers and shady corners when sun got too hot.
We have been to Lake Garda many times and will definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Top floor facing the lake for views.

We spent some time looking for the right hotel. We did not want to be on the busy lakeside roads but nevertheless wished to have a view of the lake and easy lake access. Ventaglio was perfect. It is on the edge of the village of Cisano, kind of in between Cisano and the much busier town of Bardolino. It is set back from the lake on a quiet road which runs parallel to the busy road. Our room was on the top floor with a very nice lake view from our balcony, including sunsets. Claudia was very helpful and informative. She expertly juggled breakfast times with answering guests' questions, always with a smile. Breakfast was fantastic - extremely varied (including Prosecco) and of very high quality: 10/10. We were the only English guests amongst mainly Germans. Pool and jacuzzi were very nice too. Free bicycle hire was a wonderful extra and we used the bikes several times. A short walk to the bus stops gets you into Verona or further north, e.g. to the mountains at Malcesine. Easy walk into Cisano and Bardolino. A perfect hotel in a wonderful location with great service.

Room Tip: Stay on the top (2nd) floor; better views.

Found this little hotel on Tripadvisor and booked it direct. Very glad we made this choice. We had a lovely, smallish room (15 on the second floor) overlooking the pool and the lake, but the bed was comfortable, it was very clean and had everything we needed: safe, wardrobe, bedside lights for reading, electric socket near the mirror, mini-bar etc. Good small shower room too. Everything was very clean and well presented. Breakfast was a treat - plenty of choice, and a help yourself buffet - but the best thing (apart from the super helpful staff - well done Claudia and the man who helps out, not sure of his name) was probably the free bikes. We used these a lot: most evenings to cycle into Bardolino, which is a delightful place; and another day to cycle to Garda itself. Brilliant! We had a lovely time here and would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: We were on 2nd floor which was great but there is no lift!

We spent a long time trying to choose the right hotel around Bardolino, and we are so pleased that we chose The Hotel Ventaglio! A warm welcome, very clean hotel inside and out and quiet location are just the first things you realise when you walk through the door.

The room we had on the second floor didn't have a balcony, but did have pleasant views over some sort of orchard and was one of the family rooms very capable of sleeping two adults and two children all in proper beds. The air conditioning was a 'god send' even in early June.

The hotel does have an area for having the superb and plentiful buffet breakfasts, but that is the only meal they serve. If, like us, you want to eat out for your other meals there are loads of restaurants both close by and within easy access. Make sure you ask the owner (Claudia, who luckily for me spoke perfect english) for some recommendations. La Boheme was one, and another (can't remember name of it) a short drive in the hills behind Cisano/Bardolino with superb views from your table in the garden.

It literally is just two or three minutes walk from the hotel down to Lake Garda, and then only 15 minutes saunter into the centre of Bardolino. Whilst doing this we did notice several other hotels that were on our short list that claimed to be in 'quiet locations' that actually were not.

There are a few other reviews on this site for this hotel that can give you more details on how good this hotel is, and how beautiful the Lake Garda area is. We will definately return to The Hotel Ventaglio, and recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay in this hotel. We found this hotel to be very clean, the owners and staff were very attentive, plus the attention to detail was fantastic. We really enjoyed the free use of the bicycle hire and took full advantage of this facility. Breakfast was fantastic, and enjoyed a lovely glass of presecco every morning. Claudia (the owner) proved invaluable with the information we needed to enjoy our holiday, especially concerning our trip to Verona to watch the Opera. She provided the free use of seat cushions, which are imperative, so that you can sit back and enjoy the opera. We travelled as a family of 3 and found the room small but perfectly formed. This hotel is a little gem, it is perfectly situated in a quiet suburb and appears to be a closely guarded secret, which the German's are trying to keep for themselves.

A lovely hotel with extremely helpful and friendly owners. The rooms were clean and nicely presented (though a fairly small bathroom). We had one of the rooms without a lake view but still had a good view out in to the countryside. I'd definitely recommend Cisano over Bardonlino as it is that bit quieter, but Bardolino is still easily walkable. The free bike hire the hotel offers is the real clincher, making exploring the lake an easy and enjoyable experience.
