This is a basic, but clean and friendly hotel. It receives many bad reviews, which are unfair in my view. The hotel is very good value for money. The family atmosphere is created by having a lovely large seating area, which means everyone mingles and gets to know each other. Bus stop is outside the hotel and the main shopping area is within walking distance.

Excellent hotel! I read reviews of this hotels and was a little worried...scruffy, small rooms leaky showers etc. No its not 5 star luxury in looks but I could not fault any aspect of this hotel. It was exceptionally clean the staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, four courses, buffet starter then course one, pasta, risotto or soup, course two meat, fish or vegetarian option then a choice of three deserts! We were in a party of six and all our rooms were very good. Rooms, showers and toilets were cleaned everyday and clean towels provided. The bar was comfy and welcoming and very reasonably priced. We stayed at the Betulla for a skiing holiday it was ideally situated as the bus stops for the slopes was directly outside we never waited more that 5 minutes. Bardonecchia is a beautiful town, I would go back summer or winter and would definitely stay at the Betulla again.

Room Tip: Get one at the front with a balcony if possible, great for catching the afternoon sun. twin rooms at...

Yes it's 2 star, yes our room was a bit small, yes the shower leaked a bit, but there was plenty of hot water, we had a balcony to dry kit on in the sunshine, the food was hot and plentyfull. The staff were all very nice, but a little slow to fetch the next course through, or it was in front of you as soon as you finished the last one.
Would I go there again.... Yes if the price were the same again!
The ski bus stops outside (but it's only a 5 min wander after the bus stops at 17-30), the kit room is big enough for all the skis etc.
I've paid more for worse, so i'd go again!

it was a pleasure to stay at the hotel, from booking in to leaving ALL of the staff were fab. The location is great, bus outside of the door and short waiting times. Hotel is comfy, food was not always to out taste, but that's just a personal preference. We would stay there again without a doubt.

We come to Bardoneccia at the beginning of February 2012 and this hotel was part of package with Neilson. The rooms are really worn and the bathroom was not the nicest (i doubt they have been decorated since built). The good thing is that the bus to the slopes stops right outside the hotel (every 20 minutes) and is just a 5 minute journey to ski. It is also a 2 minute walk from the train station and 5 minute walk to the town centre.

Our package was half board, which included a good continental breakfast and you decided your evening meal each morning with a choice of 3 items per course. Most of the food was good and there was a salad bar as well and although our package didnt include drinks, it was only 3.50euro for half-litre of wine - great value.

Make sure you take your earplugs though, as the walls/doors are pretty thin and you can hear every time someone goes into the hall. We paid 300pounds in total for flight, transfer, food and hotel - so was good value. OK hotel as long as your not spending too much time in your room!

We stayed at La Betulla over Christmas, and had a great holiday. The food is great quality, very traditional italian with lots of choice. Our room was fairly large, with a big bathroom. Our only slight criticism would be the thin walls. We had quite noisy neighbours, so if you are a light sleeper, would definitely recommend taking earplugs. But that is the only negative comment we have.

Although at the end of town, we found the location for skiing great. The bus stops outside for the Campo Smith area, or across the road and just around the corner for Jafferau. So its easy to get to either area dependant on the weather that day. We found the snow quality at Jafferau is much better, and the runs are quieter, so if its open, head in that direction.
