Imagine a wedding dinner at Tuscany sunset and dancing until dawn under a starry sky with a full moon. Imagine the finest Tuscan cuisine served straight from the Danielas heart. It was all in La Topaia.
Daniela, Michele, Mateo - thank you for everything.
We will definitely return to you more than once.
With full responsibility for the words I would highly recommend a visit to La Topaia.

Darek

We were welcomed by Matteo, who picked us from Borgo San Lorezo railway station and delivered us to La Topaia. Daniela, realising that we hadn't eaten lunch, then brought out a host of freshly sliced home grown tomatoes, tuna, local cheese and some local wine. Daniela and Michelle's generosity continued for the next five days. Whereas I had a slight language barrier (my wife speaks fluent Italian), it did not seem to restrict our communication and when it did, Matteo and Guilia were close by to help. The rooms were very comfortable with our room overlooking the front of the property. The view was both scenic and relaxing with views of the vegetable garden, sunflower fields and manor in the background. By the way Michele was up at 6.30 everyday selecting the produce for the evening meal. Daniela cooking was excellent and the evening meal was always something to look forward to. Borgo San Lorenzo is 3 kilometres from La Topaia and also has a nice selection of eateries (particularly in the old part of town) Breakfasts were generous (very European style) with fresh cakes straight from the oven. A lovely selection of local wines at very reasonable prices at both La Topaia and also at the winery close by (say 800 metres on right).

Room Tip: The top floor rooms were very comfortable and those facing the farm itself and the manor provided the better views and relief from the sun.

What a lovely place! Easy to find even though it is well off the beaten track; very clean with friendly owners. A couple of alterations and it would be a perfect haven - no airconditioning (but we didn't expect this with a working farm) but no fan either and we had very hot weather for the end of August/September. No opportunity for pre-dinner drinks either, as there is no bar facility, although their own very good wine is served with dinner (which was excellent). Also, Daniella apologised that something was wrong with room service on the days we were there so no-one came to clean the room or do the beds. However, it was such a lovely place, with a well-sized pool, that we will probably go back again as it is just around the corner from the Mugello circuit and we are big fans.

o Beautiful and authentic place. Very nice swimming pool, very convenient for children. Nice and fresh rooms
o Excellent food in the evening
o Nice places in the area, such as Scarperia
o Children feel welcome

EVEN BETTER IF
o A bit far from Firenze and other Toscan nice locations ~ 45 min to reach Firenze

This is a wonderful villa on a working farm in Tuscany approximately 3 km from Borgo San Lorenzo. It is clean and fresh (rooms are cleaned daily and very well). The rooms were very comfortable with all amenities. Beautiful home baking in addition to bread at breakfast (as much as you can eat). The evening meals were also delicious and varied. La Topaia's wine is sweet. Michele, Daniela and Matteo are welcoming and helpful. The swimming pool is a delight on hot days and the loungers under the trees in front of the villa are very restful. All in all, a super holiday in a super location. Highly recommend.
