“Good but not necessary”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

It takes a lot of time to climb and it is just a lake anyways, nothing special about it. If you have a lot of time, you can try, otherwise you do not miss a lot to skip it.

“A beautiful quiet ride.”
Reviewed 26 June 2013

I've ridden this three times now and have never been dissappointed. Because the road doesn't lead anywhere, it remains quiet, which makes it an enjoyable ascent and a great descent. Good cafe by the lake.

“Cracking little ride to over 2000m”
Reviewed 6 April 2013

From Bormio, this is a nice short ride but with a great height gain to over 2000m. You go through Premadio and begin the climb up to a picnic area, and that where the sight hits you straight ahead.
The switchbacks are just piled on top of each other!
It's certainly worth climb up to Torre di Fraele, and then there's a descent on an unmade road to the café overlooking the Lago di Cancano. We road this road when it was wet, and your bike certainly gets covered. However, because of the amount of water on the road on the descent back to Premadio, the bikes soon got cleaned.
