Stayed for one week with a cycle pal, and enjoyed it so much. Outstanding food and accommodation, first class guided and van-supported bike tours each day, very welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Many amazing mountains to ride of course! Every detail is provided for cyclists including secure bike room, workstands and tools, full cleaning area, bike clothing washed for you overnight, ride food and afternoon tea etc.
Without a doubt this was a excellent experience and what an area to ride, just make sure you've got your base miles in first. Some epic legendary climbs await on the hotel's doorstep..

Fabulous , fabulous , fabulous !!!!, We recently stayed at this unbelievably great hotel for a week as a group of 12 cyclists, aged from 30 years to 65 years, all family and friends to celebrate my husbands 60th Birthday and cross off the list the big mountain climbs of Italy, It also happened to be a stage of the Giro coming through which made it extra special
Hotel Funivia provided one exceptional holiday experience which will never be forgotten by all.The facilities provided by this hotel are amazing, from the time you arrive till departure, everything you could possibly wish for.And its great to be in a hotel that caters for cyclists and is full of cyclists, all enjoying the moment, a real buzz
Going for a ride then coming back to watch the days stage of the Giro on the big screen TV was a bonus, go Dani on your on screen Giro moment!
The rooms are spacious and clean, and we had a beautiful view of the mountains
The daily planned rides with an experienced guide, secure bike storage and workstand area, being able to have your cycling gear washed overnight and ready for collection the next morning just adds to the experience.
Half Board includes a great breakfast and the most delicious 3 course evening meal every night. The chef is amazing!
Being given a ride pack for lunch , and coming back from a ride to have a treat for an afternoon snack, tea , coffee, juice all provided .
As it was my husbands "big birthday " I had contacted Hotel Funivia a couple of months earlier to arrange a birthday cake for a dinner, and provided a photo, hoping they could make it for me .They were so helpful it getting this to happen , I was so excited and appreciative to see the end result ,Thank you to the Chef, he did a brilliant job, it was amazing. All the hotel guests joined in to celebrate, just wonderful!
The owners and staff are all terrific , friendly and helpful.Thank you Anna for all she did for us , (including getting the cake organised)
I would highly recommend this hotel

Room Tip: We had a room facing the mountains which was just spectacular

I've just spent a week at Funivia with a cycling club mate on a half board basis. The rooms was large and clean, beds were comfortable and the shower was good. The small window did not have curtains for some reason but the outside shutters did the job. There was no air con (not surprising for a chalet style development) so it got warm at night and opening the windows let a bit of noise in on 1 night from a bar across the road.

From a cyclist point of view the hotel couldn't be much better. The food was excellent at breakfast and tea and the afternoon sandwiches and cake were great. The underground bike storage and workshop was very large and well stocked with workstands and tools and had easy access from the hotel basement.

The big surprises for us were the wash service, the kit drop off and the photo disk for group rides.

Overall a fantastic hotel, especially for cyclists. They cover basis i've never seen covered in other hotels.

Second year here in a row, this time for two weeks, and we enjoyed it just as much. Outstanding food and accommodation, first class guided and van-supported bike tours each day, very welcoming family atmosphere (grazie mille Daniele, Elisa and family!) and friendly and efficient multilingual staff. Many amazing mountains to ride of course! Every detail is provided for cyclists including secure bike room, workstands and tools, full cleaning area, bike clothing washed for you overnight, ride food and afternoon tea etc. Non-cyclist guests also have lots to do with mountain walks, thermal baths and spas, shopping in the old town etc. Very highly recommended - we will be back again!

Returned to enjoy another fabulous holiday with Eliza, Danielle and their friendly, helpful staff. Terrific Chalet hotel in perfect Alpine village of Bormio. Very comfortable and clean hotel with delicious meals. They are wonderfully set up for cyclists with a comprehensive bike garage (incl bike hire and mechanic service), guided rides, cycling snacks and afternoon tea (Italian style) and free cycling kit laundry service! Of course the location is the star with access to the Stelvio, Gavia, Motirolo and many more. Bonissimo!

The wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for a mini cycling vacation as part of our 2 week trip to Italy. We are strong cyclists, but ride more for fun than for competition. Basically, we are enthusiasts and love everything about cycling and based on our research, Bormio, Hotel Funivia, and the local climbs were supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread - and boy was it ever!

Hotel/Bormio location: everything is pretty much walking distance from the hotel, including the Bormio city center. Bormio is surrounded by huge, awe inspiring mountains. The scenery is incomparable! The hotel backs to the bottom of a ski resort and has great views all around.

Food: The food at the hotel was the best we had on our entire 2 week vacation in Italy. We were very, very happy with the quality and uniqueness of the breakfast and dinner items. We also loved the afternoon tea where snacks and drinks were served to the cyclists. This hotel has everything dialed in perfectly and knew exactly what my wife and I needed, without even asking us! The best gelato we had our entire trip to Italy was directly across from the hotel.

Service/Staff: The staff and service was better than the 5 star hotels we stayed at the rest of our trip. The staff are genuinely nice people who care and have passion about what they do. They went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time and enjoying ourselves. I admire the passion they have for cycling and for the climbs in Bormio.

Riding: We did not do any of the organized/supported rides with the hotel, but no doubt they would be great. We rented bikes from the hotel, which were Pinarello Dogma 65.1/Shimano Ultegra bikes. Pretty much top of the line and they were brand new. We rented them for 3 days - on the first day we rode Bormio 2000 on our own; on the 2nd day we rode the organized Passo dell Stelvio event, which was EPIC!; then the 3rd day we rode to Lago di Cancano. I swear, Bormio is like heaven for cyclists! We want to come back and ride the Gavia, Mortirollo, and other rides in the area.

Rooms/Comfort: The rooms were perfect. The only minor complaint I have is how thin the pillows were. Maybe this is typical? But I'm a Mr. Fancy Pants when it comes to pillows and like the big, thick down pillows. I guess I could have just asked for another pillow. I also loved having the Bike Channel on TV. I could watch that channel 24/7 and wish I had it at home!

Overall: This place is definitely a cyclists friend. The people who work at this hotel are very nice, kind, and passionate people who know what cyclists need when they are on vacation. They are great a what they do and I'd come back in a heartbeat. I already miss this place and cannot wait to return. Thank you Hotel Funivia!

Arrived back home yesterday form a week in this marvelous hotel. This was my second visit and this year it was even better than last year. The bike services are even more improved.
We booked half-broad.
Food: Breakfast is good, the sandwiches and banana for lunch are prepared and presented to your table as a standard service.
Diner is just wonderful. Every day you can choose between 3 different starters and 3 different main dishes, Desserts are fantastic pieces of art
Starting in the late afternoon, it's tea time in the bar, with refreshments and delicious snacks
Cycling services: Every day they organize a group trip. If you don't want to join the group, you can prepare a bag with new clothes, drinks, or whatever you think you need and drop it in the Stelvio Experience bar in the basement. The crew from the hotel brings it to the tops of 1 of the mountains nearby. In case of a mechanical problem, you an call the hotel and they come pick you up!
If you choose to join the group for the group ride, they take care of your bag in the van. There are always different guides with the group, so if you (just like me) are not such a quick climber, they will always take care of you.
Cycling clothes can be dropped in the laundry bin to be washed every day.
During the day, they take some pictures of you while you are climbing. At the end of your stay, you receive a CD with all the pictures. Also 1 big group pictures was presented for free.

Room service: The room was always cleaned up.

All the people from the crew are very friendly and always there to help you if you have a question/problem/...

This is a very professional team to give your holiday's that little extra.
