Admittedly you need to be a bit of a car buff to visit here but the beautiful old buildings that house the cars are also worth it. Good value and some real car history on show - lots of makes and models I hadn't seen before. Very well worth it if you are in the area.

I last visited the Mille Miglia Museum in 2008. I came back to see it again this year, figuring that they might have added new things or improved the exhibits. Sadly, it has very much gone the other way. Cars that used to be there are now empty spaces. Exhibits of memorabilia and documents are now disorganized and haphazardly scattered remainders. Many things that used to be on display are now nowhere to be found.

Signs of neglect and a loss of focus are everywhere. Bits and pieces are placed here and there, not in the chronological order they used to be in. Display cabinets are apparently not even plugged in, as the contents are left in the dark. The A/C was off when I was there. The men's room reeked of urine. Most strange of all, there is a large roomed filled with Beatles memorabilia in the middle of the museum. While I like the Beatles as much as the next person, how they are suppose to connect with the Mille Miglia is anyone's guess. Even the once bustling cafe in the central courtyard is now locked shut.

Perhaps this museum has been hurt by Italy's recent economic problems? Most of all, though, it just looks like it suffers from very indifferent management. A pretty sad state of affairs...

This museum is well laid out albeit it was smaller than I expected. The merchandise in the shop was good quality but on the expensive side. We had a drinks reception followed by an excellent meal. We were joined by the drivers of the only Aston Martin to win the race. The only downside was that it rained heavily as we were leaving.

For only 7 euros it was a great look at the history of the race. Very well laid out. Unfortunately the Aston Martin owners were having a meet there too so the restaurant was closed to everyone else, but we walked into the town - 500 yds and ate in a great little bar instead

Great selection of cars, and historic items relating to past Mille Miglia races.
Opportunity for shopping for clothes, watches, etc., for your companion in the included shop.
Small intimate restaurant .
