“I felt like Action Girl Lara Croft in the Swimming Pool ...;-)”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Seriously the indoor pool was amazing , and the spa in general , the fact it's in such an amazing quite old world setting , apparently the monks lived here once upon a time back in the 1600s ...lucky monks I say ...:) it reminded me of my favorite tombraider game ....I felt wonderful swimming around in the pool all to myself , looking up at the fake candles in the classic Italian framed windows full of sunlight and greenery from the court yard outside ..the hotel seems to me to be a stopover for mostly business types , but I found the staff most welcoming , the young tall man who made me my coffees in the morning, I'm sorry I can't remember his name but he was lovely and smiley as was the lovely young female lady who spoke perfect Aussie English to me , :) seeing I'm Ozzie , and nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff if I had requests like the light not working in my bathroom ...just small things ...I did find the staff in the spa which is separate abit rude and condescending , and not really willing to be all that helpful even when I wanted to enquire about booking a massage ...their loss on money not mine ...:) the food was your normal Europe breakfast to me ..and a nice selection of most things , , I loved this hotel and it is amazing , and exceptional and the wonderful service and staff , great beds and well cleaned rooms , I found the only thing I don't like was the fact it was hot at certain times in the day and and they had air conditioning but wouldn't use it and this seemed stupid to me considering if your paying for it and I stayed five nights ..,.I have never experienced anything like that ....and it's the only thing I found to be a let down in this majestic hotel ...I would like to exprience the outdoor pool when I come back one day as the staff said it was not ready till summer ....this hotel would be one of my picks as one of the best hotels in this smallish old town full of history and now I am part of that history ....:)

Room Tip: I think any room in this hotel would be wonderful ...

Stayed here for a business trip March 10-14th 2014.. everything was fantastic in the hotel itself and the spa facilities are excellent. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the breakfasts are amazing. Beautiful sunny gardens by day and candlelit courtyards at night. There is everything you need in the hotel but if need anything there are shops and restaurants a short walk away. A nice woodland path walk takes you into the vineyards and countryside.

This hotel was a welcome break from the chaos of driving through Italy and visiting Venice. It is a small boutique hotel in the middle of a residential area, though you would not notice once you drive through the property's gates and walled property. It was a bit confusing which parts of the property were for hotel guests to explore, as parts of the property were also privately owned and you could tell people lived there. The restaurant was very simply furnished but the food was outstanding (grilled monkfish with grilled vegetables). We toured the spa and it looked absolutely magical and like stepping into history as it was a monastery in the 1600s(?). It would have been nice to have learned more about the history of this place. Staff was 5-Star.

Great conversion of an old building, very peaceful in grounds and plenty of outside areas to relax in away from the sun's heat. Restaurant very good but very quiet, only ourselves and one other person on the night we tried it. Breakfast was simple but good quality. Swimming pool was great but need to point out is part of Spa for which additional charge is made.

Good value for Money and the level fo Service is excellent. Breakfast is rich and good.

Interiors are sophisticated and prestigious.

I did not have time to use the SPA and the restaurant was fully booked for a private event. However the Receptionist gave us a good recommandation for dinner.

My room (ground floor) was a bit noisy as it was next to the reception and I think the old door (not used anymore and facing on the other side the reception) was the reason why it was noisy. However I did not hear anything during all night, so I could rest with the maximum comfort.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor rooms if possible.

We visited the hotel for the weekend of the Giro D'Italia in May. The hotel was very reasonably priced and proved to be excellent value for money. Although some distance from the Town Centre, the hotel itself and the surrounding countryside are a joy. The Spa was very well done, spotlessly clean and extremely well designed to ensure a relaxing few hours. Room was clean and, again, well designed. On the Sunday morning we took a walk in the countryside around the hotel and were surprised that there were many marked trails with fantastic views of the mountains. We found the breakfast first class, an excellent range of healthy options. We'll certainly be back.

Room Tip: We had a second floor room which was very pleasant.
