“Fair and confortabile”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013

Central, confortabile and familiar. Great place to visit Brescia with a nice patio for breakfast in summer, large selection of newspaper in the breakfast room and confortable rooms. Mind the wifi as not all rooms are well connected. The staff is very nice and welcoming.

Quaintly irregular building in an excellent location in the old town, midway between the Piazza Paolo VI and the Piazza Loggione. Friendly and helpful staff.
By international standards the hotel is probably around the two star mark and facilities are basic. It can be very good value nevertheless – we were quoted more than three times more for a room at the equally central and better standard Hotel Vittoria.
Breakfast is quite basic with no hot item but good coffee. Our room (no 15) overlooked the small street at the front of the hotel, had a small private balcony and the use of a larger area with chairs. We also had a partial view of the Piazza Paolo and a good view of the clock tower in Piazza Loggione. Bed was comfortable though a bit bouncy. Plenty of towels and pillows but limited shelf space if one wanted to unpack completely. AC was poor. Shower door was hard to close and still leaked water into the bathroom. Sink wouldn’t hold water.
Would I return? For tourist location and value probably yes. If I was on business, no.

I really wanted to like this hotel, but couldn't. First the positives: amazing location, large room and bathroom, and beautiful exposed beams on the ceiling! However, the AC was too weak to cool the room any cooler than lukewarm, the bathroom shower had NO water pressure, the bathroom windows had no curtains or shades, AND in our room 27 the wifi wasn't strong enough to reach (I had to sit in the stairwell to get wifi). We booked this hotel for location (perfect location), and also for free wifi and AC. It is unfortunate that things just didn't "work" in the room!

A small hotel in the city centre. Lovely! Very central, the location is perfect to visit what you want, down the street there are a lot of restaurants and this excellent hotel is nearby the Paolo VI square with the fabulous church Duomo. Clean, efficient staff, silent place and lovely homemade breakfast.

We were following the route of the Mille Miglia to make a road trip touring Italy and this was the start. Wonderful little hotel quietly tucked away but very central, with underground car parking not too far away. It was a shame it was cold and wet at the end of May, but Brescia itself is a fascinating town to explore. We had a great room overlooking the streets with a view of the clock from one of the windows. We would definitely go back.

This is a nice little hotel right in the heart of Brescia, a few metres off Piazza della Loggia and the Duomo and within easy walking distance to the Castle and other places. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and pizzerias all around it. The Reception staff (Sonia and Claudia) made us feel like if we were at home!. They were very helpful and friendly. On her own spare time, Claudia helped us find a parking space when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and found that some streets leading to the hotel were closed due to a function. The rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast is adequate and sometimes, weather permitting, is served in the verandah (Unfortunately we didn't have such luck as it was cold and rainy during our stay!!). On the first floor there is a small but cosy lounge which provides an interesting selection of reading materials.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you think the chiming of the famous clock leading to Piazza della Logg...

Albergo Orologio is a lovely little hotel in a quiet street not far from one of the main squares. We had a lovely double room for our 3 night stay, with good quality furnishings and appointments. We had other buildings across from us but it was not a problem and we were able to have the windows open for some fresh air. The breakfast was excellent, served in a charming dining room (or the courtyard in warmer weather.) We found Brescia to be an unexpected delight, worthy of the description of a 'mini Milan'. We walked up to the old Castello, with spectacular views across Brescia and the surrounding countryside, plus lots of interesting history. Back down in town we walked through the site of the Roman Forum to city museum (Museo civico dell'eta romana) with an outstanding exhibit from Roman times, including a elevated walkway over original mosaic floors.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room if that's important to you. There is a clock tower (orologio) nearby.
