This was our second stay at this family run holiday apartment structure in the mountains. It's located just outside Brixen/Bressanone on the road up to St. Andra and the Plose ski area. Both times we went for ski weekends and stayed two nights. The place is a working farm so smells like farm animals - beware - but is also very comfortable, well equipped, and a pleasant place to be. The kitchenette has just about everything needed to make simple dinners at home.
The apartments are in a rather new building that is built to local eco-building standards and I was very impressed by the heating, which kept us cozy without having to turn it on much. As it's well insulated it's also perfectly silent. Beds are super comfy.
Kids will love seeing the farm animals - donkey, cows, chickens, rabbits and cats. Products made here are available from the owners, we love their jam and fresh yogurt.
The ski hill at Plose is a small, family-appropriate resort that is part of the Dolomites superski area, so technically you can connect from here to other hills, though we didn't try to go too far. Parking is good (and free) at the base of the hill and is just 1km away from Frotscherhof. There is a ski bus down the road from the lodging but not close enough to walk IMO.
Note possible spelling variant - the O should have an umlaut or be spelled with an 'oe' in English like in the official website http://www.froetscherhof.com/
