Modern-style hotel, newly refurbished with fantastic bathroom (heated mirror over the sink which never mists over) and clean rooms (basic furniture). Corridors are "open" to outside so more ideal for the summer season. Ok breakfast and helpful staff.

This was a great hotel, especially for the price. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was clean, new, and modern. We had a great view of the hills from our room and the staff was helpful directing us to train stations, stores, restaurants, etc.

If you have a car, it's a great location to explore Tuscany and the Mediterranean is not even that far away (must see: PortoVenere). There is also a large shopping center in Calenzano which proved to be a real blessing because we were able to get a Garmin unit plus plenty of other food and supplies.

The Hotel Restaurant (across the street) was good, but expensive. Down the street 200 meters is another fine choice - similar quality, but much lower prices.

Breakfast was good but not great. Overall though, it was a great stay.

We had a fantastic time at Meridiana Country and would recommend it to everyone. Located in the hills, away from the busy Florence this is the perfect place to relax.

The staff were very helpful, always friendly and happy to go the extra mile- literally- we didn't take a car which makes it difficult to get into the centre of Florence but the hotel provided a shuttle taking us to nearest rail stations (Prato or Calenzano) in the morning and picking us up in the evening 6pm - 7pm. Taxis are available in the evening.

Our room was pristine and spacious, with a granite tiled luxury en suite bathroom (shower only). It was very tastefully decorated and the perfect place to unwind. We had our own balcony with a beautiful view of the Tuscan mountains and surrounding countryside, where we could enjoy a relaxed breakfast.

Thank you to all the staff, especially the General Manager for a wonderfull time. Can't wait to come back.

Stayed here with my family in September and must say the Hotel was above my expectations!

We had two rooms and both were immaculately clean and well presented, we had a view over looking a private garden!

Everything in the hotel was perfect but I must say the thing that stood out was the staff, you could tell that they really enjoyed working there and were full of smiles and helpful information.
We loved our stay at the MERIDIANA and a big thanks from all of us to the General Manager Mr. Loris again for making our stay so memorable!!!

Me and my wife stayed at the MERIDIANA the night before our flight to Munich. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

The room are beautifully decorated. The furniture was comfortable and there was plently of lighting. The air conditioner worked very well. We honestly dont have anything bad to say about this hotel. The service was very sincere and friendly and we really could not have asked for more!

The location is not at all your Tuscany dream -set near a chalk mine and without any vistas. Very difficult to get to and from. Getting into Florence without taking the car proved a nightmare.

The service was appalling -ranging from disinterest to lies. The receptionist misinformed us about bus times and had us wait 25 minutes longer in the rain for a bus to Florence. The receptionist promised a shuttle bus would pick us up at any hour from the closest train station but when we called for the shuttle at 11pm we were told it would not pick us up and had to spend 30 euros on a taxi.

The room, although new and clean, had an ant trail going through it. We pointed this out but nothing was done about the situation.

Do not be fooled by the romantic and pretty pictures on the website. The hotel is more of a conference hotel than a romantic getaway.

  • Liked — New hotel and decent breakfast
  • Disliked — Very poor service. Terrible location in an outherwise beautiful region.
