“a wonderful stay”
Reviewed 1 July 2013

Thank you to Silvia and Bruno for a delightful stay! My family group of ten were aged from 14-86, and none were disappointed. We made use of the pool and the grounds. The setting is as lovely as the hosts, and if you have a chance to have Silvia cook for you you, do not miss the opportunity. The food was fresh and delicious, and to sit down with the hosts and share the meal was a wonderful experience for all of us. Breakfast was also a lovely spread, with many items to choose from. We wish our stay could have been longer!

What can I add to the glowing tributes - not a single one of them overstated. Well only that Sylvia & Bruno spent about an hour looking for us on SS640 in the early hours of the morning and could still greet us witha smile. Never experienced hospitality, or food, as good as this -it was a pure delight staying here, and that goes for our 15 year olds, and 4 year old too. I'm still enjoying the olive oil & pasta I bought to take with me....only wish I'd got more!

We spent 6 glorious days here. The apartment, with cooking facilities, was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Ultimiately, we didn't make much use of the kitchen, because Silvia's dinners were just so wonderful. The views of the landscape from the gardens/ terraces are beautiful. Can't say enough about the warmth of the welcome from Silvia and her husband Bruno. Memories of dinners shared with our hosts and interesting fellow travelers are among the sweet souvenirs of our trip to Sicily.

Our first trip through Sicily and like all good travellers we wanted to try and experience the real deal....to try and step out from the tourist trail....very hard to do in this day. But we think we might have got close. We hired the car at Catania and after a few days at Syarcusa turned inland to Caltanissetta where we had booked a B&B, Silvia Sillitti. It's tricky to find, you need a Tom Tom (not Garmin) and it's along unmade tracks for the last bit......it's worth it. A family owned working farm, the property has been in the family for generations. The current custodians are Silvia and husband Bruno, beautifully assisted by Josie and the two dogs IPad and Lola. There are three suites attached to the main house which sits on top of a hill overlooking the fields of organic wheat, almonds, olives etc as far as you can see, it's spectacular...look at the Trip Advisor shots they are totally on the money.
Silvia is an excellent cook and her assistant Josie cooks a great lasagne, the food is delicious but simple, interesting and, memorable....how many restaurants can you say that about.
You must have a car and then you can do day trips in every direction to enjoy rural Sicily. A word of caution, if you are an experienced rural Italian driver no problems.....otherwise expect anything. The best thing about the farm is that you can, if you choose, join the family for the evening meal along with your fellow guests.....highly recommended.
The house becomes your home, if you need a break your room is large and comfortable, no television though... so have a book. Remember this is a working farm so you are not at the Hyatt Regency. There is a large swimming pool to enjoy and a beautiful terrace to sit and ponder the meaning of life as well. It's probably not for everyone but if you read the other reviews on this page and you are like minded you will love it.

A 3 night stay in an undiscovered rural part of Sicily. About an hour by car to some really interesting locations. Excellent breakfast and dinner. A lovely swimming pool with countryside vistas. Sylvia, Bruno and her staff and friends made us feel very welcome and were understanding when it came to our poor Italian.

My husband, one-year-old daughter and I spent four nights at Silvia and Bruno's farmhouse in April and would highly recommend this agriturismo. Silvia and Bruno are incredibly welcoming and passionate about what they do. Silvia prepares five course meals every night using organic products from their farm. It was a pleasure to share dinner with Silvia, Bruno and the other guests from around the world.

The apartments are comfortable, spacious and clean. Spending time on the farm was also very relaxing and the perfect place for a one-year-old to run around.

Finally, the location is ideal. I thought we were going to be a isolated but in fact there are many interesting spots to visit within an hour's drive. It is a great place to base your stay, or part of your stay, while in Sicily. We spent three nights in Taormina before coming to the farmhouse which gave us a good balance between a touristic beach vacation and an authentic farmstay in Central Sicily.

I learned about Silvia and Bruno's agriturismo from a post on Trip Advisor and booked it for three nights after seeing all the positive reviews. I am so happy to have made that decision! The awe of the landscape, serenity of the farm, warmth of the hosts and comfort of the apartment helped us to have one of the best holiday experiences ever. Our children loved the pool and running around the grounds. Lola the dog was a particular favourite of my daughter's.

We had dinner one night with Silvia and Bruno as well as their nephew and another couple. The food was perfect and we enjoyed our night chatting about where in the world we were from. Silvia obviously loves what she does and is very good at it too. We felt welcome and at home from the minute we got on the farm.

We hope to make our way back there again and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone else. It was truly spectacular.
