We got there a week of vacation during August 2011.
The village is huge and that is all... if you don't have a bicycle, you will walk for some long times.
We took a 50 square meters bungalow. It was well furnished and large but a bit ... "tired" ... it needs updates (the walls, the chairs, the shower, the air conditioner, the device for cooking,...).
The sea was nice and clean (Caorle had the blue flag 2011 for the clearness of the sea) and the beach is not too bad (if you pay for a big-sun-umbrella).
Generally the village is not bad, it is a peaceful place but for some aspects it doesn't respond to the 4 stars standard that you are paying for: some places are not even so clean (gardens, squares, swimming pools), restaurants close at 23.00 but at 22.00 the service people is cleaning and storing the tables for the night, the people is sometimes not so friendly and you have the impression to "disturb" them... and more: I'm Italian and of course I hadn't any problem with the language or with the local dialet... but I noticed that most of the service people were not able to speak English, nor Deutsch, nor French... this is not what an European tourist could expect in a 4 stars structure.
Then something of strange: the access to the best swimming pools and the best gardens and a great part of the animation are just for the guests that buy the "SamCard" (it should grant to you also some discounts on the village's shops, but many time I found guests with the SamCard in their hands that were complaining about this with the sellers)... I had vacation in other villages and when you pay for a 4 stars service, clean gardens, clean swimming pools, animation and many other things MUST to be included in the price... In my view, the village I found on August 2011 is suitable for 2 - 3 stars level.
Considering this: it is expensive.
