If you are seeking a quintessential Tuscan experience then Podernuovo is the perfect place to base yourself. I have visited Podernuovo on three separate occasions over the past three years (Spring Summer & Autumn) and each season has something different to offer.
The day usually begins with a freshly brewed coffee on the terrace where you will find a basket of freshly picked produce from the garden, this usually informs what happens later in the kitchen. The property is a working farm and is set over a number of acres with a range of animals and produce so there is ample space to walk around and enjoy all the property has to offer.
Both villas have been tastefully renovated and offer all the modern conveniences which made out stay as relaxing as possible. Il Seccatoio (my favourite) is slightly more intimate than the larger Casa Vecchia which is perfect for a larger party. Both villas offer spectacular views of Montegiovi and surrounding areas. Castel del Piano is only a short walk away where you can find all the ingredients you need to accompany the produce from Alvina’s garden.
The hospitality and personal attention to detail from the owners is superb – Both Umberto and Alvina offer great advice on the many surrounding sites should you need it or a conversation about last year’s grape harvest. Both villas offer ample amounts of privacy which is ideal for escaping with a good book.
Everything was in a word… perfect!
