Incredible place for a wine tasting, olive oils and truffles. We were very well received by Silvano owner who explained everything about the place and made us feel very comfortable. At the end you can buy some products of the farm. The day was pretty cool, super recommend!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and taken around the farm to see and learn all about the biodynamic farming practices and all the produce. We passed by lavender bushes, pigs, vines. We were taken into the balsamic vault underground and did a taste testing and learnt all about the production and taste of balsamic. Then up to do a wine tasting where they brought lots of little snacks out for us to try (a cooking class had just finished). The wine and balsamic was just delicious and we bought a case to take back to Australia!

Our tour guide, Anna Maria, informed us that we would be stopping here for a light lunch.

When we arrived we were escorted down into the cellar to do a balsamic vinegar tasting. That was an incredible experience for us, we do not truly know what balsamic vinegar is, this was a huge eye opener for us.

We had some of the fresh fruit from the trees which for a North Canadian is very special. We talked about the history of the farm, I had a conversation with owner. Once he realized that I was actually interested in his work and the farm, he was very open and spent some time with us. He had other commitments, but it was a great insight.

Then came the light lunch, the antipasto plate, the pork with balsamic, the grilled egg plant, the scrambled eggs with truffle oil, the lasagna, the ice cream with balsamic and the peaches with balsamic.

I did buy some items to be shipped home, and they made it very simple.

Our tour guide decided this was where we needed to go to lunch and I am so thankful! It was fabulous. After a peak into the wine cellar and vinegar room, we were treated to a traditional italian feast. The Spelt and Garbanzo Bean Salad was out of this world. Not to mention it was paired with a delicious Chianti..when we thought we could not eat anymore, we were presented with the best lasagna that I have ever had. The meal was not quite over. Dessert was next. Vanilla Gelato with 30 year aged balsamic. Unbelievable! Will stop by and visit Silvano and Rita every time I am in the area.

What an amazing experience. I've never had such a beautiful intimate time wine tasting. With the owner himself personally showing us around their estate and farm, into the wine cellar, and over to the beautiful spread where we dined. Best wine, best lasagna, best hosts. A MUST.
