I stayed at the Villa with 10 friends and we had an amazing time. There is plenty of space for everyone so you can easily get away be yourself if you want. Although you need a car, it is well located to lots of lovely villages. You can also catch a train to lots of places including Florence and Rome which takes about 1.5 hours so an easy day trip. All in all, a lovely experience.
Casa Cantallagina is the perfect villa for a large group of friends. The house is extremely well equipped with everything from a pizza oven to a large barbeque and plenty of tables and chairs for a party. With several sitting rooms and terraces, not to mention a large pool and beautiful gardens, there's always plenty of space for people to take some quiet time out.
If culture is required there are numerous towns and villages nearby with fantastic frescoes and delightful restaurants.
All in all, a rare treat. We can't wait to come back.
We stayed at Casa Cantagallina in the height of summer and loved it. The house is spacious and cool, with a tremendously relaxed feel to it. The ground floor is a delightful combination of eating and living spaces, while the upstairs bedroom/living room suites have the perfect level of independence and privacy. The gardens are extensive and amazingly green - a couple of sumptuous fig trees were in fruit while we were there - with beautiful views towards Lake Trasimeno. And the pool is the perfect way to spend even the hottest of days. We ate all our meals under the pergola in the shade.
Rustic Italy around you, but inside the secure villa surrounds everything you need to cook, keep cool and relax. And fruit trees with luscious figs. And table tennis!

We stayed in Casa Cantagallina on the Umbria/Tuscany border this August 2014 as a first visit and we could not speak more highly of it. We thought the photographs and description did not do it justice. And the views were spectacular.
It was extremely spacious (huge!) and stylish but also very comfortable, with large and airy seating areas on all the floors so there was no problem finding a space to read quietly or take a siesta. The villa is extremely well equipped and had everything you could need for a large party – the ice-cream maker and bread maker were heavily utilised during our stay.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful with outdoor terraces and pool, but we were too early for ripe figs, so had to ‘make do’ with fresh passion fruit from the trees.
The owners’ recommendations for eating, drinking and sightseeing/activities (or at least the ones we had time to sample), all received the thumbs up from our party who all thought it was the perfect place to chill and relax, or as a base to explore Tuscany and Umbria.
We will definitely be going back.
