“A time for relax”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2013

We've been three times in this beautiful hotel and every time it's been a totally relaxing experience. Staff is friendly but very professional, room was well-cleaned and noiseless, the spa is wonderful, you are cuddled and feel you can take all the time you need to yourself. The entrance hall is superb with many different separated rooms each with its own style. Fresh flowers everywhere. Breakfast was rich in quality and quantity. We also liked the massages as well as the overall atmosphere. Next time we're going to spend at least 5 days instead of two!! Last but not least, it's not expensive: 2 nights with breakfast and spa included cost us 196,20 euros for both.

This is my third time to this hotel and while the rooms are not fancy, it is very comfortable and quiet. The beds are a bit hard but this is typical for Italy. The spa here is fantastic with a hot springs swimming pool, turkish bath, sauna, and a hot grotto. Really nice after a bike ride. Massages here are excellent. The hotel is located in a park and hotel has lots of outdoor terraces. Some rooms come with huge balconies. The breakfast is good and the restaurant is very good for lunch or dinner.

We were delighted with our experience of the Grand Hotel Terme. The breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly. Beds and pillows a bit hard. However as a location for a holiday it was ideal with lots of good restaurants within walking distance. We also sampled the spa which was discounted for residents and to be recommended. Hot tubs on roof we had all to ourselves. Forli as an historical town was a disappointment.

We have just returned from 4 days of relaxing honeymoon in the Grand Hotel and Therme.
The Highlights of the trip were the friendly and helpful staff who are really concerned that you enjoy your stay. The spa treatments are top class with an impressive range of treatments from a simple uplifting massage to full rehabilitation treatments overseen by Doctors. The Ritual di sensi being particular amazing.
There are not many British visitors to the area as most seem to go to Tuscany etc which is their loss as the area is fantastic and totally unspoilt. This does mean that you need to make sure the staff understand your requirements and dont leave it for them to be in tune with your wishes as the way of life and doing things is very different,as long as you make it clear what you need they will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The small town adjacent is a delight to walk around and sample the Osteria's and Ice cream parlours with their amazing produce. The gardens of the spa and the outside pool are very clean and very well run.Everything is done in a relaxing way and all are friendly and efficient .The food is also very good although be prepared for people smoking at the breakfast table as this is allowed in Italy!
A very nice break

I had a wonderful long weekend in this hotel located in Castrocaro Terme (10 km far from Forli', in Emilia Romagna region). The hotel, surrounded by a nice park, is located in an elegant building realized in 1938 by the architect and decorator Tito Chini and includes the Thermal baths and the Parties Hall. I had a wonderful room with a king size bed with a good and ample bathroom. Every room provides also a bathrobe and flip-flop for the thermal usage. Hot spot Wifi in every room (even if not always working).
At the -1 level is located the SPA with Thermal facilities. It is suggested to follow the "Path politermale". The entire path includes multi-sensory experiences:
Swimming pool with whirlpool spa
Kneipp spa vascular
Thermal steam bath in cave
Turkish bath with chromotherapy
Sauna
Showers
Cold Bath Spa compensation
It takes 2 hours to complete it and it is very relaxing. It costs 40 Euro. There is also a rich choice of massages and other beauty treatments you can try at level 0 of the Hotel. I tried
Lymphatic drainage - method Wodder (25' for 45 Euro), Health & Wellness Mud Custom (Complete - 40 ' for € 65.00) and zone therapy or reflexology (25' € 45,00).
The water salsobromoiodic mineral water is highly saline with a high content of iodine and bromine. It owes its origin to salt water as fossil remnant of the sea that occupied these territories many millions of years ago.
For the high content of sodium chloride and for the various therapeutic properties of the iodine and bromine belongs to a group of water are widely used for the important biological effects.
The hotel restaurant is good with a local and international cooking. You can try some good bottle of local Sangiovese di Romagna Wine, in particular Domus Caia, that is the best one.
The personnel is very gentle and helpful. There is a parking inside the hotel. A courtesy electric car with a vallet helps the guests to bring the baggage from the parking to the Hotel. The hotel, with beautiful furnitures, marble floors and elegant decorations is a pleasure for your eyes and represents a great example of italian taste.

First of all the location is something unique: a 3 piece complex all in the Rational architecture of the fascist era, in the hills of Romagna, with a nice pedestrian park.
Secondly service, courtesy of the staff, in the lobby, restaurant and spa is very good, and typical of the Romagna people.
Third diet dishes and buffet breakfast are also quite good, still not perfect, but more than enough to make you enjoy your stay.
The only thing that might be better is the insonorization level in the rooms, since corridor (guests, staff) and plumbery noises are very present.
The overall judgement is anyway Excellent, since price of the packages stay/spa is very reasonable and our stay was close to perfect, exceeding ourexpectations.

Room Tip: Probably rooms from floor 1 and distant from ramps/lifts are better in terms of noise of passage and...

We just spent few days in a junior suite. 4 stars sup??? no way!!
Parking- at 300 m - they pick you up only for the arrival and departure, during your stay you ll have to walk and enjoy the nice emilia romagna winter..

Staff is smiley but dont wait from them to anticipate your needs... if you dont ask you wont get!!
Lack of staff- noone behind the concierge desk, so ..you want to book a spa? the reception will give you the phone!!! you want champagne glass because the minibar of your suite got only plastic glasses? the reception will send you to ...the ballroom!!! You ask for a hair dresser in your room? you ll be sent to the village!!
Room service: even worst!!! you ask for a continental breakfast with expresso ?? it's already a looong way to order it and if you re not a food and beverage expert you will get the minimum vital breakfast! you order croissant with cream? you ll get only one on the plate with no jam, butter,or milk of course! you ask 4 min boiled egg? unfortunatley you ll get it cold but it certainly boiled for veeery long!! and of course forget the salt, pepper and bread!!!
Housekeeping: dont waste your time to put "dont disturb" sign (of course the one that you written yourself before to go to bed)... 9am she is in!!!! but dont expect evening service.. it wont happen!! so you ll ve to put yourself your the 50 years old dusty blanket on your bed if you check in after 6pm, by the way, as you know duvet cover didnt exist at the Duce time so..forget it!!
The Spa: we took the "percorso termale"....this place is a kind of military hospital, candels that you see on the advert never been lighted since!!! steam cave made with fiberglass with shower who doesnt work.. relaxing area with loud music and the staff who will cross the place every 2 min to go to their storage.. I must recognize that the brochures and the marketing are well done, but to look at the massage room will remind you the hospital of Lawrence of Arabia!!
Except all this, go to have a drink in the bar, (only close to the bar because you ll never get anyone if you sit in the other lounges!) Enjoy the Art Deco style, with the beautifull smell of the exhaust of the steam from the thermes.
But if you want to forget all this, do 5 kilometers and go to the "Rosa bianca agriturismo" wonderful place, exceptional food, awesome service!!!!

Dear Gabriela06320,

thank You for the notice, reading what you write it looks like that everything didn't work, nothing, all is gone bad.

We apologise for that and we hope you don't have to live another experience like this one.

On our side we try to take Your comment as a 'push up' to do a better service, we surely are not the best place in the world and we also don't say that.

We think that probably are not the right place for You, looking at what you have reported above we also would not go in a place like this. LOL!
We also didn't know that Lawrence d' Arabia had a hospital, thank You! :)

Just one question:
Why, after such a long speech on what is wrong and didn't work in here like services, times, concierge, spa, massages, housekeeping, etc.. You promote another place that is totally different from us and have none of these services and facilities??
We know that place (they cook very well and You can order wonderful Tagliatelle !!! ) and we know what You're advertising, but remember that internet is global for either You, us and all the people in the world
