“WOW atmosphere, but rooms a little dark”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2011

We attended a private event here and stayed overnight. The hotel is drop-dead gorgeous. Very modern with minimalist, white furnishings, white orchids and an elegant courtyard where one of our events was held. The rooms are in the same design with low, low beds (and very thin mattresses). They look fabulous. However, there's no good lighting in the room, just two low-light lamps and a recessed wash for the wall. The only way we could see was to open the draperies for daylight. At night, it was very dark. Even the bath, which was spectacular, had poor lighting. I could barely see my face in the mirror to put on make-up--and no window for natural light. I know all this minimalist style is the rage, but guests do have to live and dress in these rooms.

The food was spectacular. We were at an all-stops-out affair, but every dish, appetizer, dessert was beautiful and delicious. Everyone raved. Breakfast the next day was luxurious too. And the view, overlooking the elegant pool to the beach can't be beat.

All the hotel staff were great. So, take a flashlight, and stay at this place.

Super clean, friendly, beautiful.......all the best adjectives apply here. The pool is nice and the property is adjacent to the beach. What more could you want? Plus they have a spa where I had a fantastic facial with Jutta. She offered me some great advice about skin care too and I left very happy. Stay here!!

a nice italian feng sui type styling | relaxing and service oriented | clean and pleasant room | small hotel | good breakfast and cappuccino | excellent restaurant | in the direct environment are family hotels and the beach is full of umbrella's | this hotel hoewever is a oase of style and rest | good to stay at the pool in the garden | and to walk to the more lively and crowded beach | good restaurants at the habour and in the inland | with a (rental) car a trip to Urbino is worthwhile - less touristic than Firenze - and more than enough culture for a daytrip, wandering in the palazzo ducale | lunch at Monte Gridolfo half way | beautiful hilly land - coming from the flat low lands in the north | that is what we like

Stayed here with 11 clients for World Superbikes at Misano. All were happy with the Hotel. The rooms were a good size and well appointed. Everything clean. Really helpful staff. Cattolica is a typical resort but you get the best of both if you pay a bit more and stay here.

This hotel was improperly represented on their website. The hotel is flanked (with about 10 feet on either side) by rundown cheesy motels with guests' laundry hanging out the side--which were photoshopped out of their publicity photos. One of these hotels begins blasting disco music at 6pm onward. The back of the hotel abuts the public beach area and the screams and howls of children interupts any sense of making it feel like a secluded and private resort as shown in several websites. The spa was the basement and our masseuse had a cold and was sniffling and wiping her nose during the whole massage (and her tissue lay next to my head). While the interiors of the hotel were clean and modern, the neighboring area makes this a disappointing choice.

Having read the other reviews of Carducci 76 it was with some trepidation that we booked and have just returned from Cattolica and a nine day stay at the hotel. Cattolica itself is somewhat commercial but it does have the most wonderful reasonably priced unpretencious restaurants offering really good food. The beach is a clean typical Italian one and is right behind the hotel, no roads to cross and you can do a deal for the stay with Josie who runs the beach club.
The Hotel is the best by far in Cattolica, very modern and minimilist in style. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with a large balcony overlooking the garden The bathroom was on the small side. There was a never ending supply of towels which were changed twice daily.
Even though it is where the beautiful people hang out it was not snobby and the staff especially Marco the manager couldn't be more helpful.
I would say this hotel is ideally suited to those who love the beach, good food in a chilled out small hotel.
We would definitely go back.

As others have highlighted, although this is a cute (pretentious) set up (essentially Ferretti's ego trip) it is akin to an alien spaceship that landed in the middle of a not particularly interesting seaside resort. Cattolica is not actually as bad a place as others flagged (and you can eat very well in the area) but it is essentially a sea of 3* family resorts for Italians and Germans. I was there out of season so many were still shut but I see no reason to return. Grounds are small and rooms are fun to a point. Views are dire and beach is not my thing (flat, dull, busy in high season). That is the problem: there is no point to this hotel at all.

  • Liked — Best in the area
  • Disliked — Why go at all ?
