All I can say is do not go to this hotel or Cattolica!!!!!!!!!!! This was the worst Holiday I have ever had, how people can say the food is good is beyond me, you can get better at McDonalds!
We ate out evry night, the food was over cooked and then left to dry out in a baine marie, and then to top it all was cold, everybody Iwe spoke to said they could not wait to get home and have a proper cooked meal,.
The hotel is on a really busy road, all you hear is motorbikes and cars going past, you can not relax by the pool for the noise of the traffic. admitted the staff are very helpful but that was the only plus side to the holiday!!!
I have experienced this hotel and believe me, I do you a favour when I say do not go.
Cattolica is not one of the most picturesque places I have seen, I can understand why Thomas Cook sell this as a cheap deal!!!!!!!!!

We've recently returned from a 2 week stay at the Senior Hotel. The hotel is small, the rooms are basic (as most Italian hotel rooms are for 3 star properties)but they are very clean. The balcony left a lot to be desired as it was pretty small and not much of a view. The hotel is situated on the main road into Cattolica which is noisy all day and night. You can catch the local bus into Rimini just a few yards down the road from the hotel and can get the little noddy train to either Gradara or Gabicce Mare there as well. The railway line is behind the buildings situated in front of the hotel and the trains run all day and night but you soon get used to the noise. Maura the owner of the hotel could not have been more helpful to her guests. She gave information about places to visit that the reps wouldn't tell you about and was willing to help you in any way she could. The other staff within the hotel were excellent and kept everyone's spirits up during meal times. The food served in the hotel was great. Breakfast in the hotel was continental style. If you wanted to have lunch in the hotel, they served burgers, toasties and chips at reasonable prices. Evening meals usually consisted of pork and pasta dishes with vegetables if you wanted them. Each night they served a different cake for dessert which you could have with the lovely Italian ice cream if you wanted. The bar prices in the hotel were not too bad, you paid 10 euros for two spirits with mixers in them. The resort of Cattolica has a lot to offer during the high season but not at the end of the season as everything closes completely. The trip to the Italian night in Gradara is to be recommended. You are taken by coach up to the castle and have a lovely meal and a dance with free wine being supplied all evening. A trip to Venice is a must but it is a long day as you are picked up at 06.20 and the journey takes 3-4hrs and do not arrive back until around 10pm.

We booked this trip as a last minute deal with another family (9 of us in total- 4 adults and 5 children ages 11-15) and really did not know what to expect.
We needn't have worried, the senior hotel did not disappoint. It is a small family-run hotel with a great pool , plenty of sun-loungers and brilliant service. The rooms were very comfortable with TVs and satellite channels, the bathrooms were very clean with a good-sized shower. If anything I would have liked a small fridge in the room.
The ladies behind the desk were more than helpful finding us all the info we needed to explore the area. In fact they were much more helpful than the rep who wanted to just sell us overpriced tours and trips.
Breakfast was continental style with cereal, bread rolls, pasties and cold meats as well as fruit. It was always well displayed and stocked. Lunch could be bought from the bar and this was extremely good value and well prepared. The evening buffet varied from day to day and there were always new things to try, the desserts and ice-creams were particularly good.

The hotel is not far from the beach or the shopping area; everything was within walking distance.

We went to Florence on the train (not through the rep) and although the trip and the day were OK I did not find Florence particularly interesting, there are no fountains or statues as there are in Rome and Florence did not have, for me at least, much charm. We had really wanted to go to the Uffizi gallery to see the statue of David but the queues were enormous( we would have had to wait 2 hours to get in ) We saw the Ponte Vecchio bridge but again it was nothing special. I don't mean to have a downer on Florence but really we could have been anywhere!

We also went to a waterpark nearby which was fun for all but especially the children. Food here was very pricey, a lot of Italians had brought their own picnics.
We also visited San Marino ( aVAT free state, only 45 minutes away) and the kids bought lots of Italian replica football shirts quite cheaply.

A great visit, you can make it as relaxing or as busy as you want.

Got back only yesterday.. And what a relief!! If your looking for good food and an atmosphere i suggest you aviod this hotel like the plague.. The food is so boring and stale.. The rooms are small and the pillows on the bed are like bricks.. Having paid a small fortune for this holiday i would not recommend this place to my enemies..

Just got back fron a 2 week stay at this hotel, dont bother if you want decent food and a nice quiet holiday,The breakfast was terrible, ive never seen breadrolls so stale anywhere, nasty tea and coffee from a machine, and cake left over from the night before. The evening meal want much better, chips every night, and if you werent there within the first half hour they were always cold.Sometimes there were chicken and pork dishes that werent up to much either. On the plus side, the hotel is very clean and the price of drinks were resonable, but beware if you like red wine they serve it direct from the fridge. Some of the staff were friendly, but i agree with the previous comment about the night porter and barman,he was definately more interested in the girls than doing his job.The weekly entertainment was so embarrasing,a man and his piano,it was like being in a working mans club.I wouldnt recommend this hotel or cattolica really if you love italy as i do.Nothing really to do except go to the beach. Please bear in mind that you are packed in like sardines on the beach. To get close to the seafront i think that you would have to be there a 5am.The best advise i can give is try the amalfi coast instead.

We have just spent two weeks at this hotel - had a brilliant time! Would strongly recommend Cattolica, family friendly place - no drunks/idiots. Facilities on the beach are brilliant.
Maura, June, Rosie and Marina all absolutely brill. Rep was really knowledgeable. Cleaners were very clean!
Lovely room and although the balcony was small and there was a bit of noise it didn't bother us.
We never go back to the same place twice but we have just booked to go back same time next year! Excellent value!

We stayed at the senior for one week and i was glad when it was up.Although the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pool and rooms clean and pleasant there were many down sides. The balconies were useless, two plastic chairs squashed together and that was the whole balcony filled, not an exaggeration, you could not sit out with more than one.The food really was pretty poor, pasta with a basic sauce and chips everynight, it was boring and monotonous and felt like eating in a canteen.Saying that, though, the staff were lovely who served the tables. Definately do not expect a nights sleep, the hotel sits on a road that has 24hr traffic noise and sirens, also a railway adds to this racket, only sheer exhaustion eventually led to sleep. The weekly 'entertainment' was a man with a music centre who left after an hour because he didn't like that no one would get up and sing. The beach nearby was sandy and lovely but could not be seen for thousands of rows of sunbeds, think torremolinos of italy! The excursions were really good, though, gradara must be a visit and the venice trip is better but more expensive through the tour operator as it is well organised. If a quieter beach is your scene, take the boat to felugela(may be spelt wrong), a lovely little place.
