On our way from Palermo to Taormina this day we drove jaunt into the small town of Cefalu.
After a little stroll through a narrow street we came to the small square with several outside resturants and the medieval cathedral which is adorned with some of Italy's most beautiful Byzantine mosaics. Well worth taking the trip jaunt into this city
The cathedral was built in the 1100's by the Norman king Roger 2 and the mixture of Christian and Arabic architecture can be seen in the church is unique.
