Open long hours and with a wide menu in English & Italian, this café was a godsend for 2 weary & hungry travelers who couldn't wait until 9 or 10PM to eat. Locally caught fish & squid were really good as was the Italian cake.

The restaurant is situated in the Cathedral square, which attracts a great many passers-by, so there is always something interesting going on. The food and service were excellent on both our visits, but what turned the evenings into ones to be cherished in the memory was Charlie on the piano.....very idiosynchratic !!

Wonderful location, great views to the Duomo. However, the service was extremely dissapointing (I was told by the waiter to pick up something from the tabecloth and put it on my plate, I could not believe it... as an example). The fish carpaccio was so thick that it made it difficult to eat, even though the product was of good quality. I would not go back again, we paid 40% more than anywhere else and eat 20% worse.

Thank Cristina B

This is a simple street bistro just in front of the Duomo in the old town, with lots to look at as the world passes by. Piano is nice on the nights when the guy is playing, but quiet and shiny when he isn't. We liked the food, wine and value for money. As with many Sicilian restaurants the desserts are excellent, but the Cassata here was divine.

We enjoyed it enough to go twice.

Ok, I know one should be aware that you doesn't always get what you pay for when the location is so obviously perfect. But still: this was a big disappointment!
We thought we would try something different than the usual pasta meal, as this is supposed to be an Osteria. And we went for roast lamb. Not tasty, not juicy, all inn all nothing much. When you add up the fact that it comes with no vegetables, potatoes etc, so you have to buy everything extra, plus 2 euro cover, plus 10 % extra (nothing about this in the menu), it ended up being THE most expensive lunch in our whole vacation. Definently not worth it.
The only two positive factors was good service and the view of the Duomo, which is really unbeatable.
