“Wonderful place away from the noise of Cefalu proper”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

I stayed here for two nights as co-director of an educational tour group (fourteen of us in all). Generally, we liked the hotel--the location was good for us because it is away from the main town of Cefalu (though only a 15- to 20-minute walk away), the desk staff was very helpful and friendly, the pool (with a full service bar) was nice, and the views of the little bay, though partially obscured by trees, were wonderful. We did have a problem or two with hot water in a couple of our rooms, and it took most of our first full day at the hotel for these problems to be resolved. For our first night, my co-director was in of the rooms that open out into the pool area, which seemed very nice, but her room was the closest one to the main desk and right next to the service room used by the hotel staff. She got very little sleep from about 5 am on because of the hustle and bustle of the staff beginning their early morning set-up. The hotel, however, was very kind to arrange a quieter room for her the second night. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. While the rooms do not have wifi access, such access is available, free of charge, in the hotel lobby, which has a nice sitting room with a television and a computer. We'll be staying here again next year.

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice except those on the main level close to the front desk and lobby, which get...

We have just come back from our honeymoon where we stayed at the Le Calette Hotel, we already have two children plus my husbands parents came a long too, we all loved our stay at the hotel. the food at the hotel was good and reasonably priced. we had car hire which is a must really but it gives you the options to go and venture the beautiful places in Cefalu and other restaurants.
I would recommend this for all ages.
Will be going back to this hotel and Cefalu for sure :-)

We had one of teh rooms that was in front of teh train track but can honestly say this didnt affect our sleep which we were concerned abouyt at the start of our stay.

Me and my girfriend stayed at Le Calette from june 21th to june 28th.

We had a junior suite with sea view which was really nice. (room 403)
We looked out over the sea and La Rocca.

The bed was really nice although a bit on the short side if you're over 1m90 (6ft4) as i am.
Bathroom was clean with double sinks and a shower with a rainshower and handshower.
The junior suite had a little extra (closable) space with a couch and seperate airco.

The room also had a porch in front with two comfortable chairs in which we could chill in the evening breeze, read a book and enjoy the ocean sounds.

Cleaning service was very kind and did an excellent job of not disturbing you. Everytime we left the room for more than an hour, we came back to a cleaned room. Compliments for that!

The breakfast area is beautiful; the view is just epic! Breakfast is good; nothing really fancy, but fresh and tasty. Honest food basicly.

The pool area is nice as well; sturdy sunbeds and a pool with a depth of 1.20m going to 2.20m. A kids area and a jacuzzi is also available. If you walk down the rocky beach, they've made an easy entry point into the sea. No real place to lie down or anything but they do provide a great shower platfom to wash off the salty seawater. The other private sand beach with shuttle service is also available, but we didn't visit that one.

The staff in general was very kind, always checking if you were in need of anything.

The Hotel lies at the harbour side of Céfalu, not the city side. This was a plus for us because we wanted a quiet stay but if you want direct access to the city centre, this hotel might not be for you: the walk into the centre took us about 20 minutes.

Be adviced that the roads/paths of Le Calette to the city, the private rocky beach etc, are pretty steep; especially the path down to the sea parking space which leads to the road to the city has a very steep part in it.

All concidering; Le Calette offered us a really nice and relaxed stay in the lovely city of Céfalu.

Room Tip: 403 is really quiet; all the way on the sea side, no noise from the pool area.

We recently held our wedding reception at Le Calette where the service and experience was outstanding. Whilst planning our wedding, Antonio, the hotel Director, was in regular contact and everything we requested was possible and no trouble – including a rainbow-layered wedding cake (which was delicious!).

The setting, a terrace overlooking the ocean, was absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated. The food was exquisite with many guests commenting that it was the best meal they’ve ever had at a wedding. Antonio took the time to help us plan the menu so it suited our needs but also added a touch of ‘elegance’. Mr Gatta – the head waiter was an extraordinary host, and ensured that all our guests’ needs were met and no glass was empty. The hairdresser and beautician also did a great job with the bridal party hair styles, manicures and pedicures – even arranging for fresh flowers for the brides hair the afternoon before the wedding! To top the evening off we were upgraded to a luxury suite, with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco waiting for us.

We stayed at Le Calette for 5 nights in total and loved every minute of our stay. All members of staff, were extremely friendly and helpful. A large number of our guests also stayed at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Our room was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom, and was located on the ground floor, conveniently by the swimming pool. It was very relaxing and quiet by the lovely swimming pool with fantastic views.

It is hard to sum up our stay in just a few paragraphs as we had such a fantastic and memorable time, but we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and can’t wait to return for our 1st anniversary next year.

Thank you Antonio, Mr Gatta and the team at Le Calette. You really made our special day all that more special.

We stayed here for 12 days having booked through Expedia. We had booked a Superior Room but were upgraded to a junior suite. He reception staff were wonderful and always ready to help.
Our junior suite was lovely and had a small garden with two loungers as well as two relaxing seats. Cleaning staff were friendly and the rooms were well kept during our stay.
Indoors was a comfortable bed, two bathrooms and a couch - effectively two rooms. We were a short walk from the main hotel building which suited us well. We had a lovely view of the Mediterranean with boats going by. The hotel pool was beautifully situated and always easy to find a shady spot at. Down some steps was a fabulous deck and bar with day beds and a jetty for swimming in the sea. All very relaxing. Th hotel has also got a beach on Lungomare some 10 minutes drive away. This is accessible by a courtesy coach which goes 4 times a day and comes back at 6 for the final run. We did not use the beach but used the coach.
It would have been useful to have had a courtesy coach into the town at night and back about 10.30 as the walk in as about 20-25 minutes but the taxi back is 10 euros.
Food - beautiful setting and a reasonable range of food but little effort is made to make sure stocks are replenished for those who breakfast later - by 9.30 bacon and eggs are usually cold. Great fresh orange juice maker! Waiting staff were very business like (except for Deborah who was very warm and friendly).

We only had dinner one night at the hotel. This was a little chaotic although beautiful setting. We had booked for 8.30 but to dos not seem to matter. Dinner allegedly starts at 7.30 but by 7.55 guests were having pre-dinner drinks at the bar. Then there was a rush for the tables. Those who were in the know went to one end and we ended up at the opposite end. This meant that it was about 35 minutes before we got served. Even getting a menu was difficult. The waiting staff were fairly officious and we did have dinner at the hotel again. This however did not ruin our stay as there are many restaurants in town to choose from.

Organised trips are very expensive compared to public transport. However the hotel does not provide much information on train times etc. for example a day trip to Palermo on the train is 10 euros return by train and the organised trip is over 39 euros.
All in all a great stay - thoroughly enjoyed it and th views are fabulous

I had a bad start at this hotel. Upon arriving at 10.30 at night, we were placed in a room immediately below a very noisy wedding reception that went on until at least 2am - not the best start for our road trip around Sicily. Upon arrival we had no hot water and this remained the case until the following evening.
Thereafter we actually had a really good stay!!! The lido is fantastic, a great place to relax, as was the pool area. We really liked the breakfast having visited many other hotels and b&b's in Sicily we've learned that the selection is far more comprehensive than most other places. The staff were extremely friendly, and the room itself was cool. Parking was easy.
The receptionist advised that we could expect a 20 minute walk into town and recommended a taxi home at night. I couldn't disagree more. It took ten minutes to get into Cefalu and the walk back past the lighthouse was the perfect way to walk off the copious amount of red wine that had been drunk!
A great location.

Room Tip: First floor overlooking the pool will give you good views!

To be honest we were a bit disappointed. The hotel has great views but is a little overpriced and most guests quite pretentious. On booking they didn't have our room so 'upgraded' us to an apartment, which was bigger but not with the clear sea view we'd booked. They did then give us a suite, which was great, although all the changing around was a pain. The complementary bottle of prosecco was a really nice touch, as we were celebrating, and we loved drinks with pianist in the evening. The private beach is really quite something too. Breakfast was typically Sicilian but with pretty awesome views. So overall great stay, but you really do pay for it so not a favourite for this trip.
