Travelled with extended family of 8 people - age ranged from 7 to 70 yrs old - included English and Italian people. First the positive aspects: clean, good service at reception, nice if smallish terrace with great sunsets and good evening bar service, great swimming pool (but bring insect repellent), good shuttle service to the beach or the town centre, a great beach which was kept very clean and allowed plenty of space between parasols; good and free wi-fi; a small but decent gym; nice grounds. Now the negative aspects. The cost/quality ratio is not favourable as the place is too expensive for the quality of service it provides. Breakfast in particular was a shamble, with a lot of waiters but essentially no service. It was usually left to us to set our own table and never once during the 10 days' stay we managed to get coffee served within a reasonable time - it usually arrived after a few repeated requests and only once the actual eating was over. Some of the waiters did not seem to understand Italian or English, some seemed completely spaced out, others seemed rather arrogant, you get the picture. There seemed to be rather poor management of the staff on the part of the maître. Things improved a bit at dinner, but for the prices charged service remained just ok. The rooms were basic, the lighting system is bizarre, and be especially careful with the rooms with no balcony facing the car park. We had a superior room with "see view" but the view was really that of a ? hospital and the balcony was not at all attractive (e.g. no table, just two cheap looking deck chairs). At the beach there was a tendency to shut the parasols in case of wind; this was for safety reasons. This is apparently a recurrent problem that the management is simply not addressing e.g., by securing or changing the parasols. There is a "wellness" area (sauna, jacuzzi and a nice relax zone) that can only be accessed by paying a rather hefty fee of EUR 50 per visit. There was only one therapist at the spa (but she did not seem too busy) - quality was ok. There was some piano playing at dinner (but not every evening) but no other attempt at entertaining.

stay 2 nights in Cefalu at this hotel in Touring Sicily my first choice was the Sea Palace which is beach front but it was a minimum of 5 nights stay
so we ended up at Alberi beautiful hotel brand new
staff extremeningly helpful at night someone plays the piano
the view (from the deluxe rooms are very nice, the ocean and the old Cefalu town
it is not beach front but they have a shuttle that brings you there but if you dont mind walking hills it is only 10 minutes walk (nice walk)
their set up at the beach is fantastic; private beach and umbrellas and no rush to find a spot (very busy time)
beautiful white sand beach
really recommend that hotel

about 1 mile uphill from town centre in quite area of cefalu Hotel faciliries and amenties are a good standard ,only complaint is that the hotel controls centrally the air conditioning for each bedroom and our bedroom was too hot
saving factor is the hotels private beach on the main beachfront at Cefalu -fantastic soft sand ,uncrowded unlike the public beaches on either side which weere full !

We stayed in this hotel in the middle of June for 1 week and for sure it was right choice. Alberi del Paradiso is wonderful peaceful place with friendly and helpful stuff. I was enjoying every day spent there and absolutely nothing annoyed me. The hotel is very green indeed and situated far from traffic noise. It offers delicious breakfast with wide choice of dishes and its pure delight to enjoy the breakfast on open terrace and listen to morning birds singing. In addition to it every evening after dinner it was played the piano.
I have read some people found that hotel was far from city center. I have to admit that it’s true, but in spite of it we walked to the beach or city center several times per a day and only once or twice we used free bus shuttle. Usually one way took 15-20 min and did not bring any bother for us.
Mostly we dined in small restaurants located in Cefalu center. One of the best to my mind is Al Gabiano situated right on the seafront (5 min walk from the Alberi beach). Usual dinner for 2 persons costed there 30-35 Euros.
There is only 1 thing my husband did not like – it’s a little bit stony bottom of sea. :)
Have good holidays!

I booked into a suite at the Paradiso for the start of our honeymoon. The hotel was ok, but nothing more. The service was poor - I thought someone might congratulate us, but fine discretion is also a virtue. There was no one to carry the bags to the room but what i took offence to was being asked to return our dirty towels to reception at the end of the stay. What is more, the staff would not accept the criticism when i suggested it was not appropriate for a hotel of this rating (and price) to expect guests to return the towesl . For the occassion i had booked a more pricey, up market room with jacuzi. The jacuzi was a bath with additional jets, not a full Jacuzzi as such. I would have expected a shower as well but there was only the bath/jacuzzi option. So what was special about the suite? I am not sure. The bed was big, comfortable, but the balcony was pokey, shady and not at all attractive to sit in. WIth a little bit of effort, the hotel could be made very welcoming - a real shame but nothing that can'e be resolved by the staff themselves.
