While staying on Lake Como we took the ferry to Cernobbio just to check it out. Arrived around lunch time and had no idea of eateries there. Just stopped in here on our way to visit the church. It was packed when we arrived and we were at a loss since we do not speak Italian. Finally got the bartender's attention & asked for a table. He said it would take a few minutes, which it did because he and the waitress were rushed serving all the people. Got our table and at the same time the crowd was thinning. We only wanted salads, and ordered the Insalata Nizzard and the Caprese, and both were delicious. The bartender/waiter was very friendly and did speak English. We found it to be just what we wanted and the service was good once the crowd had cleared out. It is obviously a favorite with the locals. Would definitely return if we are ever in Cernobbio again.
