“An ok hotel that doesn't quite live up to its 4 stars”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

Arriving at the hotel, it looks very nice and so does the reception area. The rooms are in a modern style but a bit run down. Nevertheless, they have everything you need. The only "weird" thing was that our romm had a jacuuzi (which in itself is great) but no real shower, making it difficult to shower properly.
The outdoor pool was ok but it might have needed new filters as the water was not super clean. It doesn't help that the pool is sorrounded by tress so leaves etc fall into the water. The garden (lawn etc) needed a bit of moving and weeding, though.
The indoor wellness area was fine but nothing special. I liked that children are allowed between 9 and 12. It gives them a chance to try it out but at the same time gives the adults have come there a chance for some peace.
The breakfast had pretty much everything one could want - from bread to cakes, cereal to sausages and scrambled eggs. One tip, though - instead of taking coffee from the machine, ask the waiter to bring you a cappucino or whatever you want. They are happy to do so but it isn't something they advertise.

All in all, the hotel was ok but it doesn't quite live up to its 4 stars. And I wouldn't pay the normal full price it - that it isn't worth.

We spent one week in this hotel, making daily trips within beautiful tuscany countryside and cities.
Every day we enjoyed hospitality and comfort of the spa, nice room with king size bed and nice view from the window. Breakfest were OK, simple buffet, but good quality. Dinners were excellent,
big choice of starters, first dish, second dish and dessert or fruits together with excellent wine and nice staff made us very satisfied and impressed.

Reception is surly to Americans and rooms are not clean with dirty walls. Also this hotel is located in the hotsprings 'terme' area but you have to pay an additional 50 euros to swim in their lukewarm pool per day! Not advisable to stay here.... better to stay in smaller hotel in countryside!

Room Tip: Go elsewhere if your are not Italian and speak the language!

The room was great, clean, modern and comfy. Breakfast was rather disappointing, but for this pricelevel in italy i guess it was ok. The spa was a real disappointment though. There is a small pool with murky water, a small not too hot sauna and a small steam bath which smelled unpleasantly. All is in a rather run down state. I guess for a small hotel the size would be ok, but for a hotel of this size it is far too small. In the afternoon it was overcrowded.

This hotel appears to have a difficult beginning and has a mix of "modern decor" from the 80's, 90's and ? Being on a "Walking Tour of the Tuscan Hill Towns," I felt nothing of the charm of Tuscany. The staff was not friendly, the morning buffet lack coffee at the beginning and the restaurant staff seemed sparse and over worked. The attempts at creating a "modern" hotel resulted in a black and white furnishings. The bathroom had a vertical, cylindrical shaped shower with more gadgets than one or even two people could effectively use to shower! As I mentioned, this hotel was part of the package. I would not choose to stay here on my own.

Considering the very reasonable fare, we found this Hotel satisfying. The pool is very nice, the breakfast, while not sumptuous, provides you all you may need. The Spa area is very good and included in the price. Last, it stays a bit on the hill side and while steps away from the center of the new town, is in a quite location. One thing that frankly disturbed me and did not quite understand was the fact that our room shared its small balcony with an other room. Since this is not a Motel, I was not really expecting to see people 1 ft from my window looking inside. I tried to understand if this is a standard design, or an exception for the rooms designed for families. I did not understand. Should you stay at this hotel, ask for a room with some more privacy.
