we spent a night here in late july 2013 and loved it. the staff were without exception friendly, helpful and accommodating. the beds were comfortable, the rooms clean and spacious. centrally located, midway between the town centre and the sea. parking readily available on the street even in high season. restaurants aplenty and much to see. a joy.

We had a great time here, a perfect location with easy access to beach, restaurants, bars, shopping, train, and had excellent bikes to borrow ( but need more especially for kids!). The beds were good but some of the mattresses need to be replaced. The hallways also need to be renovated as they're looking worn. The service was awesome! I would come back!

We have recently returned from a holiday on the Italian Riviera with Treyn. This is a beautiful part of Italy which seems to be unknown to the British. Travelling in this area is easy and inexpensive as there is an excellent train service. The hotel is well placed for the train station, the old town and the beach. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were basic but very clean and with plenty of storage space. Half board was included in our package with wine and water provided with dinner each evening. In all a good base for exploring this gem of Italy.

Have just returned from a holiday in Chiavar,i staying at this hotel. This is a real Italian hotel,in style and charm. The accommodation was excellent, spotlessly clean, lovely white linen, towels etc.with real Italian food. The staff were also excellent from reception to dining. Its position less than five minutes walk from the railway station and main shopping area is very convenient. Our room no. 305 was a reasonable size although the bathroom and shower were rather small, but adequate. This is an ideal base for exploring the Ligurian coast, including the Cinque Terre, the scenery being magnificent!!!

We stayed here last year and enjoyed it. We have done a fair bit of travelling over the years and this is a good, clean hotel. Decor is dated and the room we had was small but look at the prices! Very affordable.
The staff were really good. (we are vegetarian and this was no problem) the waiter quickly recognised us when we came down to eat and asked us what we felt like eating and it would appear! Top marks for this.
Beds were clean, room was clean, and (important to me ) bathroom was clean. We only used the room to sleep anyhow.
The town is delightful, restaurants all around and an amazing market! Handy for travelling to the other towns on the coast....we liked it so much that we are going back this year!

We stayed at Hotel Stella del Mare in early October when we travelled with Treyn. The hotel is a short walk from the station in Chiavari, which makes trips to neighbouring towns and villages extremely inexpensive and very easy. The centre of Chiavari is a stroll away but there is a lot to discover as we found on our last day; we thought we’d seen it all until we walked a little further and found a whole new area we’d missed!

The hotel’s welcome was warm and our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. As with all the hotels we’ve stayed at in Italy, it was furnished in a minimalist fashion but offering all you needed. Free wifi was very useful and the TV had a reasonable selection of channels. The en-suite bathroom was clean, toiletries were supplied and the extractor fan was extremely efficient. The room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

Every single member of staff was absolutely wonderful; from the charming housekeeping staff to the young man behind the bar and the excellent serving staff and receptionists. Every single person make a point of greeting you and made you feel very welcome.

We enjoyed a 5 course meal each evening and the food was outstanding. It was real Italian food and on one evening we were treated to Ligurian specialities, which were superb. Our more than generous supply of wine was included in the cost of our holiday, which was also very good. My husband isn’t able to eat certain foods and the staff were magnificent – it took only a request on the first evening and every course was anticipated from there on and he was catered for excellently. The serving staff were lovely and had a great sense of humour; they made every meal even more enjoyable. Breakfast was also good with an extensive selection of items, regularly replenished.

The bar prices were incredible with a pot of tea just 2 Euros – lovely to take to your room to relax after a day out.

I have to say that this joins some of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed at in Italy and with the nicest staff. (We did have a fabulous holiday at Hotel Florence in Bellagio a few years ago and that was better but the cost was so much more!) We have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this hotel – it really made our holiday.

We slept her with my family. They have lots of things to do for children, table soccer, table tennis, chess, puzzles, corner for little kids 2- 4 year. Lounge with television. Computer in the lounge.
It is only 2 minutes from the beach and the ferry. We took the ferry to a place called Rappolo beautiful beaches. The only problem was the bed, They were to soft. This whole hotel comes to live and 21:00. Then the hotel is full, people playing chess, cards, table tennis, table soccer, watching television small children running around.

Review made by a boy 12 years old.

Room Tip: all rooms are good, but bed are to soft.
