We stayed one night pre cruise on October 26, 2012. The room was clean, quiet and the beds were the usual beds that you get in Italy and Spain - a little hard. However, the hospitality and the staff were great. On the breakfast buffet there was a great array of foods and beverages, even cappuccino.
The shuttle to the cruise terminal was free of charge.
The reception gave us maps and information of the area and we found a great pizza place just within walking distance. There was a grocery store close by where we bought wine and snacks.
We had the room the following day until 11.00am and there were comfortable chairs in the loobby to sit while we waited for our shuttle.

We stayed for one night pre-cruise in mid October. In my opinion this hotel should not be rated more than 2stars but the helpful staff and, in particular, the shuttle driver (Andreas) pushes it up to a 3 star level.

We had arranged for pick up from FCO at 10pm and Andreas was there waiting for us. The trip to the hotel was fast and we felt very safe as he navigated the sometimes winding roads. The following day, he picked us up promptly and drove us to the port. Because he had a licence to do so, we were able to go right to the ship instead of being dropped off at the port entrance as is the case with a taxi.

The hotel itself is very basic. Carpets are threadbare in many locations and our room, though clean and large was very plain. The bed was exceptionally hard even for Europe. The location was OK for a walk around during the day time but we couldn't find anywhere close by that looked appealing enough to stop for a cup of coffee.

Next time, I would try their sister hotel which seemed to be in a more pleasant location.

This hotel arranged for our transfer from FCO to the hotel and to and from 2 cruise ships and then back to the airport - the hotel has 28 rooms and the cost includes a substantial breakfast that seems to be available most of the day - the hotel is about par for Rome area - EVERYTHING was closed on Sunday- train into Rome was about a 10 block walk away and taxis were non existent - train was great - we waited for 3 hours for our pick up from the first cruise and we had booked 2 vans for 16 people from the second cruise - for that one they sent 2 vans but they could only hold 14 people!!! The staff at the hotel answered each and every email I sent them right away and the answers were great - the rooms had clothes washers in them but no dryers - grocery store not far away was handy too - Our driver was Andreas and he was great

This hotel is not in the best location, surrounded by residential flats a bit off the beaten track. However it does a free shuttle to the port which was appreciated.

The rooms are of good size and the bathroom was OK. The hotel is clean and tidy if somewhat in need of a bit of a facelift. Some of the carpets were a bit threadbare.

Breakfast was good and there was always a good supply of coffee. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Beds are terrible, a poor quality mattress on a roll away quality spring bed. I could not take it anymore at 5.30am. Staff is helpful and speaks english. Two times walking in the area for dinner was approached by the same person pretending to be police (presented id but not in uniform) who wanted you to take out your wallet and show i.d., If you comply you will never see your wallet again. The hotel staff was helpful in calling the police the second time after I got a good description. Our room was the main floor handicap room and shower floods the bathroom, it is also very noisy. Location is o.k., a bit of a walk to restaurants and everything else. Transport from airport and to ship was excellent and a real plus.

Excellent; We pre-arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel & from the cruise ship back to the airport after our cruise. The driver was on time and excellent. The hotel was very good (clean, nice balcony and friendly helpful staff). We arrived early in the day but bwere able to check in after a brief wait. The restaurant at the sister hotel was also very good. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are cruising from Rome

We stayed at Hotel Traiano last year for one night before a cruise. We were delayed 27 hours en route from ATL but our transportation was at the airport waiting for us to arrive and we were so happy to see him. The front desk staff was also wonderful with suggestions and directions for dinner and a little shopping. We only had about 30 minutes before the stores closed due to our late arrival. He directed us to a tiny grocery store to purchase wine for our cruise, and we found some excellent wines in that tiny store and had a great pizza and beer at a local pizzeria. Our room had a huge window which overlooked a side street. The room and bath were very clean and we were pleased. The breakfast was more than we anticipated. Their buffet was very plentiful with scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, butter, jams, juices, yogurt and pastries..I don't know what more you would want for breakfast! This year we are staying 2 nights before our cruise departs and will take the train from the airport. We're looking forward to doing a little more shopping and enjoying the area and restaurants and we're looking forward to staying at Hotel Traiano again.
