Owner description: Well organized slopes, efficient lift facilities, excellent snow-quality, and an ideal setting in a panoramic landscape. These elements make the Faloria-Cristallo one of the most popular ski areas in the Dolomites.

Huge terrain, varied runs from beginners to black runs with off piste skiing alongside the groomers. Make sure you get over to Cristallo and take the old lift up the big run above the field - huge long fall line run, no crowds and fantastic scenery and conditions - not to be missed.

This comment is perhaps unduly influenced by three straight days of incredible sunshine, temperatures hovering just below 0C, and a complete lack of wind. Snow conditions were superb, crowds weren't a problem, and the skiing was spectacular.
Cortina has also had 27' of snow this year (the most since 1951) so please don't read this review and assume every year is the same.
This is not a large area, but one can ski fast on challenging hills and never feel it get old.
The restaurant at the top of the Faloria cable car serves food that is superior to much of what we ate in town at night, and from a value perspective it blows the town away. In particular, the grilled meats (steak, lamb chops, pork side ribs and pork rack) and roasted veggies could not have been better. Soups and goulash were superb. Milanese was very good. French fries weren't up to snuff, but most usually aren't. Sitting outside on the deck, eating this incredible grilled food, and sipping a glass of red is, on a sunny day, about as good as life gets.
YOU MUST GO TO CRISTALLO and ski what I think might be called the San Forca-Forcella chairlift. You reach this by taking a series of chairlifts that ultimately culminate in a ride on a pre-Napoleonic 2-person chair. This chair takes you up to the slightly below the very peak of the mountains. Deep snow forced us to offload just shy of the top due to avalanche dangers, but once offloaded you are between two vertical rock faces and feel you are on top of the world. The sky above the cliffs appeared to be purple it was so intensely colored. Looking back across the valley left you with the feeling you are resting at the top of the world. Of our party of eight, I think we all experienced a measure of vertigo as we contemplated the rocks above us and the valley below.

Queues at the Faloria gondola station took 40 minutes and be prepared to be squashed in with masses of others

Good variety of slopes to suit all abilities, Good food in the restaurants and great scenery. One side of the gondola wasn't working so took time to get up and down the mountain.

We are a skiing family. This tops anything we've ever done (Tahoe, Colorado). Small restaurant/bars all over the place. We had two lunches that I describe as "at the top of the world." The lunch places at the tops of lifts 57 and 21 should not be missed (esp. 21).
