“Vunderbar!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

Spent a week with room in new part of hotel. We were one week out from the end of the summer season, and the staff could be forgiven if they were tired and hanging out for their own holidays, but that wasn't the case. Service just exceptional; helpful, friendly, prompt, professional. This family takes great pride in what they deliver. The food was sensational and the choice just blew my mind, better than 95% of our top restaurants in Canberra Australia. Rooms always cleaned with fresh towels etc every day. Yes, some towels were a bit thread-bare and the 5 star chain hotels have better pillows, but I didn't find this a bother, certainly not for the price!

Location. Corvara is so central to a huge number of walks, climbs and activities, but you really need a car. Corvara is not one of the nicer villages, so you are better off staying up here on the hill with the views, than down in the crowded village.

Activities. There are many easy and hard walks. Easy Recommend going above the hotel and walking the paths on the Pralongia plateau. Easy walking, lots of cafes and stunning views of surrounding mountains. Can get up/down via chairlift or not. Hard, recommend Col De Lana circuit or Piz Boe from Corvara chairlift.

Will go back, even though it is the other side of the world from where I live. The hotel and its facilities and food are just such a nice reward at the end of a full day, it is worth the trip!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a Panorama view in the new part of hotel. Room 102 was fantastic

We have just returned from 4 days’ via ferrata climbing in Corvara. The via ferrata climbing was fantastic and Sporthotel Panorama was a perfect base for us. The best thing with this hotel is location, food and the service. The hotel is located outside Corvara in the middle of the Dolomite. It’s a great base for via ferrata, walking or skiing. The food is of superior quality with a menu that varies every evening. The food is very tasteful and well presented. The Costamoling family and staff are very helpful. It was our third visit to the excellent hotel and we will for sure be back next year.

We have just returned from a week vacation at the Sporthotel Panorama in Corvara. The Hotel provided excellent services and our experience was wonderful. The food was of superior quality with an extreme variety and choice of dishes; both rooms and hotel areas were extremely clean; the fittings and furnitures were of high standards. The Spa with swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and outdoor sun lounge area were a very welcomed retreat after long walks on the Dolomites. The Costamoling Family and staff could not be more helpful, making our staying a very enjoyable experience. A special treat was waiting for us each evening (pre-dinner aperitifs and dessert delicacies prepared by the chefs). The service was impeccable, professional and personal. This is business ran to perfection! Although not in the centre of the village, the Hotel was at a short walking distance (approx. 10-15 minutes) from downtown Corvara, an ideal location for tranquility and nearby hiking paths that one could take directly from the Hotel without using the car. We are very happy with our choice and would certainly recommend the Sporthotel Panorama with no hesitation. You will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: The rooms in the dependance have Jacuzzi in the bathroom - a very nice treat! highly recommended!

Location: Located above the village of Corvara, it has a beautiful outlook. Beware though if you do not have a car it is a slog back up to the hotel. However, Corvara is a perfectly location for summer walking and via ferrata.

Room: The hotel is in two parts, the old hotel and a newer section across the road, or connected underneath the road. Our room was in the new section. It was large and airy, but had a strange smell to it. Initially I thought it was wet dog, and I certainly saw people taking dogs in and out of the hotel, but it persisted for the whole week we stayed so I am not sure what it was. The room possibly could have done with having some of the furniture removed to make room to move. However, small fridge was extremely useful for making sandwiches for walking days. Nice balcony, with partial mountain views and over the old section of hotel. Room clean. Could have done with some more pillows on the bed. Clean bathroom with shower over small whirlpool bath. Only toiletries provided are in bottles fixed to the wall - although a decent make, this does remind me slightly of a premier inn rather than a 4* establishment. Given the 4* status I would have expected larger fluffly towels and the robes we were provided for use in the spa had certainly seen better days.

Restaurant: Large breakfast buffet serving continental breakfast (bread, croissants, cold meets, fruit, cereal etc). All very tasty. Dinner was an elaborate affair although the setting was informal. Varied between 4 to 7 courses, with at least one course as a buffet (might be salad, or one time an extensive antipasti buffet, another night dessert buffet, and one night crepes and cheese buffet). Food always tasty, althout main course seemed to alternate between veal and venison with a fish option. Their take on vegetarianism was limited!

Afternoon tea: Free "afternoon tea" each afternoon, basically consisted on cake and fruit. If you wanted tea or anything to drink to go with your cake then you had to pay for the drinks. I would class this as a loss leader as tea for two was 5 Euros. After a day of walking, a nice cup of tea is needed and there was no tea making facilities in the room.

Spa: Beautiful spa area with pool, jacuzzi and a number of saunas. I enjoyed a hot stone massage by Elena, which I would thoroughly recommend and reasonable priced.

Staff: All staff very friendly and helpful. Family run business that seem to care about their propery and guests.

Just back from a weeks walking in and around Corvara. The walking was fantastic but the holiday was made extra special by the quality of this hotel. In particular the food which is as good as any 5* restaurant. The menu varies each evening with a wide range of food types cooked to perfection. Very friendly staff who make you feel welcome and at home. The hotel is very clean with spectacular views over the village to the mountains. The facilities are great with a lovely spa. Can't think how you can beat this!!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the village are the best.

Just spent a week in Covara on a family holiday booked via Colletts. This hotel is wonderful - family run with excellent staff and service. The food is outstanding with something special and different laid on every evening. The location and views would be hard to beat anywhere in the Alps.
