Just returned from our 4th visit to the Palace Hotel and it gets better very time! Spent 8 nights there this year. Hotel is beautifully situated for the beach. It is spotlessly clean, lovely rooms, (the sound of the sea is glorious). The only problem with the food is - there is too much! Itis superb. Staff make returning visitors feel like one of the family and nothing is too much trouble for them. Diano Marina is also a very nice resort with a family feel about it. We hope to return again next year. Itwas recommended to us by our son and daughter-in-law who have also stayed there 4 times. We in turn have recommended it to friends and six of them holidayed there in July.

we stayed in april 2011 this hotel and staff perform higher than thier 3* star rating.
The hotel its self is in a lovely position with the sea just over the road, the first thing you notice is how clean the common areas are and the furnishings are very tastefull.
Our room was a side view but it was beautiful and we could see all the hills and sea for miles,it was immaculate every where was clean and the decorations was very well done, the bath room was ideal we stayed 10 days and the sheets were changed at least twice
and there was always clean towels.
breakfast was buffet but it was the best buffet i have come across in italy there being fresh
fruit and breads preserves and meatsand lots more.
we were on half board and at breakfast the manager came round with the menu for dinner
what can i say this was always first class and typical of the region.
staff and management were always attentive. we have travelled in italy quite a bit and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

We stayed at the Hotel Palace for 9 nights from late July to early August this year, 2010. The staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive- everything we might have hoped for and more. We had a twin room with a balcony and en-suite bathroom, all of which was very clean and a pleasure to use.
We discovered the sun terrace a few days before the end of our stay, which is on the 4th floor and can be accessed through the "Wellness Room" which also contains a sauna, jacuzzi and exercise bike. From the sun terrace one can view an even more picturesque panorama of the Gulf of Diano than that which can be seen from the balcony, and there are also many sun loungers for the guests' use.
We chose to have half-board, but the hotel gave us the flexibility to choose each day at breakfast whether to eat lunch or dinner, and even to have different courses from the lunch menu at dinner time, or vice versa, if that was what you preferred. There was a continental buffet breakfast, with a very large variety of items, from muesli and yoghurt to pear pulp and croissants, mortadella, ham and cheese, foccacia... I couldn't think what else they could offer! And the coffee each morning was delicious- it was so rich that it was almost chocolatey.
The cooked meals were some of the best food that my family have ever eaten. It was so good that we decided against eating out most of the time, because what we ordered in restaurants paled in comparison! They give a choice of four different starters and four different main courses that one can have at each meal, but you also have the option, as I said before, of picking a course from the lunch menu, so that gives you even more choice.
We had some amazing seafood: anglerfish, clams, mussels, squid, octopus, prawns, angelfish, swordfish, the list goes on. If fish isn't your thing, don't worry, as they also offer plenty of meat courses, such as quail, chicken, parma ham, beef carpaccio, and veal featured heavily on the menu. I must say, I didn't see much provision for vegetarians, so if you are vegetarian, I would inform the hotel of this when you book and ask their advice.
We tried trenette (pasta) with freshly made pesto- a Ligurian speciality, using local olive oil, and this did not disappoint. It is not like the 'Sacla' variety you can buy in a jar in the UK.
As for pudding, we had some equally lovely desserts. We discovered that if they offer "cake," this can mean a variety of things, all of which tend to be more exciting than you expected and more tasty! We were also offered "melon cake" at one point, which we realised, when presented with some great roulade, that we must have misheard and the waiter must have said either "meringue cake", pronouncing it "merring", or "meringué" pronouncing it "merringay." Even so, it tasted marvellous!

The waiting staff were very conscientious, polite, friendly and absolutely excellent really. They had to work hard, speaking in several different languages, catering to each customer's nationality and they remembered what you had each day and anticipated what you might like. The maids were just as diligent, and were very thorough. I was really pleased when one gave me an extra pillow on her own initiative, because she had realised from where I had stacked up the blanket underneath the pillow that I might need a bit more support.

Very good location, right on the seafront, and the hotel give you a discount on the use of the beach with Bagni Lino opposite. We were pleased that there was very little noise at night, the only problem being the noise of the sea, which one has to expect when staying on the waterfront! It is very easy to reach the centre of the town and its shops, just about 5 minutes stroll up the promenade.

I think we would definitely stay here again if we returned to Diano Marina, because it really did exceed our expectations! At the end of our stay they gave us a bottle of local olive oil to take away, which was a very thoughtful gift. I cannot think of anything bad at all to say about the Hotel Palace.

We are a Hungarian family from Budapest and we spent a very good week in this hotel in July 2009. Diano Marina is quite crowded but taking into account his large sandy beach this can be a very good choice for families with kids. The hotel is well located at the end of Diano Marina's promenade. We have choosed this hotel due to the very good reviews red on the tripadvisor webpage after many days of websurfing. We can confirm the laudative information included in reviews are fully true.
We had a nicely furnished room with balcony and seaview without air conditioning but this was not a problem because of the continuous wind. Even the bathroom had a window looking to the sea!!!
The hotel's staff was extremely friendly especially Andrew the barman.
We had full pansion with various and delicious food, 4 courses for lunch and dinner.
The breakfast is in Italian style, coffee and sweetie, excellent croissant.
The beach in front of the hotel is very clean with comfortable sunbeds and umbrella but it is very crowded. As a guest of the hotel you can get some discount.

We booked this hotel by email and also spoke to Elizabeth, who speaks excellent English as do the hotel staff. She arranged for a taxi to collect us from Nice airport (cost €140 each way).
We booked a side room because it had air conditioning which was a good move as it was very hot. Closing the windows at night also kept out the sound of the waves!
The room was very good and the whole hotel spotlessly clean. The TV in the room picked up BBC1 which is unusual and there was free internet access in the bar. Prices in the bar were very reasonable.
The food was very good, we had to order dinner at breakfast and with a choice of 8 first and second courses that was not easy. Our only slight criticism was that the service at dinner was a bit too quick to enable us to savour the good food.
We were invited for cocktails before dinner on Friday evening and on returning to our room after dinner had been left a bottle of locally produced olive oil.
The hotel is situated a pleasant stroll from the town along the promenade.
A very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

I have just returned home with my wife and daughter from a perfect stay at Hotel Palace. I was in residence for only three days of their two week stay, and will limit my comments to my personal experience, except to say that my wife and daughter quite obviously had a blast the entire time, and that there is no question that the hotel was the main reason they enjoyed themselves so much.

First, the staff. We are always a bit worried how our daughter (now all of two and a half and acts her age) will be received at a hotel, particularly as we had booked half-board and would be eating in the restaurant with her two meals a day. The staff everywhere, but especially in the restaurant, did everything they could do to keep her happy...talked to her, brought out special dishes for her to try, served her quickly, and when she began to fuss, surprised us by bringing our desserts to our room. It has been our experience that Italy is kid-friendly, but the kindness was really exceptional, and helped us to enjoy delicious meals without disrupting other guests. (Couples without children may take heart: this is not a familotel with kids running wild everywhere)

The rooms are clean and in good order. The absence of carpeting in our room (it had tile) was welcome, and the balcony was large and had a fabulous view of the sea. It seems that the sea-view rooms do not have air conditioning, but sea breezes keep the room comfortable all day, and cool at night. The white noise from the rolling waves tends to drown out the sounds of the evening festivities, allowing our child and us to sleep soundly.

The owner of the hotel is obviously involved in the day-to-day operation of the hotel as her graciousness and hospitality are in evidence everywhere. Hotel guests are welcomed to the beach across the street at a discounted price, and the location of the hotel and beach appears to be the last place the sun goes down (at least at its August inclination). the Diano Marina beaches further up and down the coast are either rockier, or less sunny.

Like a four star hotel for a three star price!
