“Good and nice hotell”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2013

The hotel has good location for visiting various ski centers by car. The hotel´s skibus service is poor (connecting only the nearest slope). A big plus is the hotel´s own ski rental, it´s very convenient.
The spa and pools are OK - there are number of different opportunities and lot of space. Bothered that the children were not allowed to use saunas (nordic kids are usually accustomed to it).
Breakfast was the same every day, and had little choice, salads, not at all. But supper was exellent almost every day.
Rooms are small but comfortable enough. Walls will echo through the room and the front door as well. Especcially bad is sleeping in rooms 102-107 on first floor as they are localized above the bar ( music is very loud on those evenings there are bands). We didn´t see A/C in rooms - so in summertimes it might be problem to sleep.
Roomservice works every day but quality is variable and is poor sometimes. Staff is helpful and polite.
There are minor defects in spite of a good holiday.

Room Tip: Beware of possible first-floor rooms (above bar; probably on west side).

I must say I have very bivalent feelings about this hotel! On one side, it is perfectly located (if you have a car that is), close to Folgarida, Carlo Magno and Madonna di Campiglio lifts. The facilities on site are very good:several types of sauna, several pools with all bells and whistles, big dining room and there is a ski rental available directly in the hotel.
Now, if you you are coming from other countries (especially from UK/Ireland) don't count that you will get good value/money ration in Italy AT ALL! The hotel is immensely overpriced, for 200 eur a day you will get very poor breakfast, tiny rooms with microscopic TV screen, you will have to PAY for water during dinner (although the option we took was a half board!) and for the Internet(!) which sometimes work some times it doesn't...
You will additionally pay for ski rental (well it is logical I guess) but the equipment you will revive will be of very sub par quality (our boots smelled like cesspools and skis were so dull we had to be very careful on icy patches not to skid down-slope without control) and for parking in the garage (small open parking available). The skibus goes only to one nearest lift, which can connect you with other slopes around which is very time consuming. So if you want some diversity in skiing rent a car and forget about their skibus.
Overall, if you forget about this glitches, and rent yourself a decent four wheels, you can spend time very pleasantly there and get moderately priced (for Irish standards) spa treatments (whose quality strongly depends on who is going to massage you!). If you care about value for money, forget Italy and go to Switzerland or Austria instead...

Room Tip: Choose one of the rooms in the attics or some junior suits in the new part of the hotel

This hotel, which is on a great location in Val di Sole, looks from the outside very nice, although it is clear that it fits best in a snowy landscape. Inside it's old fashioned, both in feeling, furniture and service. It has no comfort feeling, however you might expected that from a spa hotel.

Spa and wellness is OK, but it just doesn't seem to work in the summer time. Outside pool is small, sun terrace is average.

Our room, which we bought as a family room with 4 beds, was actually a very small room, not suitable for 4 people. With no airco and hot temperature it was below average.

Breakfast buffet: very average: low quality coffee (!!), sandwiches average. During breadfast, around 9 am, several employees were already making the room ready for lunch.

Pricing: we got a " special offer" bit almost 200 euro per night is much too high for what is offered.

My advice: avoid it.

The hotel would be much more expensive if located in madonna di campiglio. It has an excellent pool / sauna/ recreation base, which is perfect after a long day in the mountains. the staff are helpful and friendly.
food is ok: breakfasts very good, especially the freshly made, warm pastries; supper was ok, with pretty good desserts.
the rooms are not very new, and quite small, just enought to fit bed and minibar. but even no couch or table to sit at.

Overall very happy with my stay

Friendly and helpful staff makes this hotel feel homely and comfortable to stay. Excellent spacious Nursery (Mini-club) for children which was fully equipped and well trained staff to look after the children. Brilliant entertainment for kids in the evening and during the day. Services throughout the hotel was excellent.
